Most disappointing game for year so far for me gotta be The legend of heroes: trials in the sky. Needed to be polished a little more, poor visuals IMO.

It was a pretty straight-up port of a somewhat older PC game so the visuals look the same. Even then, they looked pretty decent. Definitely something the PSP pulled off well. Even then, that's just the visuals. They game still had a pretty interesting narrative, fun combat system, and a fantastic soundtrack. Very well rounded.

NMH2 was disappointing, I'll agree. My main issue was that it promised so much but gave us very little. They started you at Rank 51 and you'd think that there'd by 50 bosses. Really, there we like 12 or something, about the same as the last one. Plus the original game had flaws (I still absolutely love it though), but if they were fixed, it'd be great. Like the open world aspects and mini-games in the original were pretty bland. Make the open world a little more lively and open and it would've been fun. Make the mini-games worth playing over assassination missions and that'd work too. Instead they ditched the open world and the new mini-games were better but still gave you little money. Plus the final boss battle was just stupidly hard and it was not nearly as "epic" as the first game's final battle.

NMH2 was an alright game in myself and it's still the last Wii game I purchased (pre-ordered it, actually), but the first one is still one of my favorite games.

It's an old game; around 2005 iirc. What more do you expect from a straight up port?

Edit: Well make that 2004.

I think one should have solid expectations.

Because kids fucking love Phoenix Wright. I can't see any appeal in it myself.

If you take the time to read everything in TitS (yes, that's the abbreviation), you'll realize that A) there's a lot of it (characters, even goddamn chests you open barely repeat the same text) and that B) It's actually pretty compelling. I'd say it's entirely more compelling than PW any day. People just want to mash A through RPGs because they think they'll be typical lame stories. If you feel dedicated enough, sit down with the game for a bit and you'll find it very enjoyable.

Already tried a bit of TitS myself a bit and so far it's a pretty good game. Haven't played a good JRPG since Symphonia. Hope to see some more coming since I heard it comes i trilogy.

I think that's why most gamers of my/our generation have no/crap taste; They have no patience.

The need for instant gratification is a necessity for this generation gamers (of course, not all) by the way it looks to me. Reading and understanding story is a more pleasant experience for me than any straight shoot 'em up game.

I completely agree with you. It makes me wonder if the next generation will be any different...or worse...

Pathetic attempt from team ninja after what retro did.

Also Super Mario galaxy 2. Basicly the same story...Hard to understand howit all could happen....

i dont get all the bitching about Metroid Other M i loved it it was different to the other ones but i loved the gameplay it does get kinda repetitive tho but i personally loved this game.

Worst game.
Call of duty Black Ops
Simple all the other versions of the game have offline multiplayer and much better graphics as well as funner gameplay
The wii version had no offline multiplayer it lagged quite a bit the control scheme was irritating in career ( i didnt even bother finishing it) the only fun part in black ops is nazi zombies but you cant play that with your friends so it kinda ends there.

Welcome to Wii graphical/size limitations. Activision are lazy fucks so they would never take the effort to make it a dual layered game (so it's stuck on a DVD compared to dual layered Xbox 360 discs or PS3's Blurays). The Wii's control scheme is love-it or hate-it (although there's Classic Controller support for Black Ops, but I don't know how good it is). They simply downgraded the graphics instead of rebuilding it from the ground up.

That being said, it's not a terrible port but clearly inferior to a Xbox 360/PS3/PC version of it. But it's Call of Duty so in the end you're not missing out on much. Just play Goldeneye or something.

A) It's an alternate universe. I think Nintendo said this a while ago.
B) Wait, when the fuck did we give a shit about Mario storylines? I mean the most we should care about is if they have a few shits and giggles in them. Even the RPGs are incredibly light on character development or a plot other than "Bad guys are doing bad stuff so we'll beat them up."

I thought The legend of heroes: trails in the sky was a PSP game? There was one for the Wii? I was thinking about getting it for the PSP - are the two versions the same?

Erm either way, most of the titles listed here I really, really liked. I LOVED Dawn of the New World - one of my favorite movies. And I loved that they got rid of the overworld from the original ToS - that was just slow, clunky, and overall bleh for me. I LOVED Other M - I thought the story and game play were great. Could never understand why people didn't like it, but eh, opinions.

I'd say the most disappointing game for me was, bar none, Crystal Bearers. I was really hoping for a "Crystal Chronicles 2" game, not a Crystal Chronicles meets uninspiring environment game. I didn't play all the way through, so maybe it gets better, but I was so disappointed with it, especially seeing as Crystal Chronicles on the GC is one of my favorite games of all time. Here's hoping the 3DS or Cafe gets a proper sequel.

Conduit 2! I was expecting this game to be a pretty good game. Bad story, bad characters, extremely short story mode, plus a few other problems.
It had potential, but it just crashed instead. If you've watched the trailers of this game before playing it, it is a major let down.

But I'd have to say, I actually liked Other M. Not as good a Prime but still OK. The gameplay was too much like Ninja Gaiden, though(Thanks a lot Team ninja -_-).

So..... Where to start......

Worst game ever, most disappointing game ever???? ANYTHING with the word Ferrari in it. Don't get me wrong, I love Ferrari's. The problem is, that System3 decided to write a racing game for the Wii instead of the PC. They spent all this time working on physics with Bruno Senna and what did they end up with?... Shovelware, crapware, discount-binware. The game right away pisses you off if you have a GameCube controller/steering wheel or pedals hooked up to your Will. It sees them as a foreign device and asks that you disconnect them before the game will even launch. Bye bye wheel!

Then, the graphics, gameplay and driving controls suck beyond belief. The worst part is that my GameCube steering wheel is an "Officially licensed wheel" from Ferrari and System3 even stated on their website that all Ferrari wheels would be "FULLY supported". Ha! What a LIE!

Anyway, I have given up on the Wii for any racing games and went back to my PC for those. That is the only TRUE racing platform anyway. So I strike my head several times with my shoe for thinking the Wii could handle something like racing games.

So far the only game I play over and over again is the latest Tiger Woods game with my friends.

Worst game for Wii?

Soul Calibur: Legends.

It was (and still is) a TERRIBLE game.
Just awful.
A pile of s**t.
Really not worth a single dollar/euro/yen or whatever.
AWFUL.
Can't even find a word for my dissapointment.
Teached me to watch ingame footage before I buy a game...

You really thought a game called "Ferrari" would be good?

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is disappointing. The controls on some of the levels are horrible and ruin the experience. Specifically the stupid bird levels and the monkey ball levels.

I second this. Game was so bad it made me wanna cry. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if you could have used a gamecube controller or non-motion control scheme. But like so many games they ruined it by forcing the motion controls

Not sure if serious.

If all the games to pick, you go and choose Galaxy 2?

I personally found Red Steel 2 pretty boring.
