Haha oh dear I'm such a noob at times! I updated my DSi XL to 1.4.2 before trying to apply the new Acekard firmware. Doh! Gonna have to buy a cheap pre-owned DSL at the weekend now and do it again properly. At least I can transfer my DSiware titles now.

I thought my card was working with the update, however, all games seem to get to the loading screen then tell me that the DS card has been removed. All games are like this.

Any help here would be appreciated.

M

Edit: The games work 100% on my DS lite

Edit 2: SOLVED - I went here Contact issues and did this:

If you are using a DSi XL, pulling the cart slightly out of the slot after insertion has been known to work. Insert the Acekard into the XL's cart slot normally until it locks in position. Once locked without depressing the cart pull it out slightly. You shouldn't be able to pull out by much as it should still be locked in position.

Did this and it has worked for all my games so far. Even better, I have managed to remove and reinsert my Acekard as normal and the games still work. I'm thinkling maybe the cart needed "bedding in"?

I hope this helps others whom have the same issue.

Is not possible to update Acekard in a 3DS in DS mode? I don't have a DSL/DSi

Nope, you will need a DSL or DSi (maybe you know someone you can borrow)
Thanks, unfortunately I don't know anybody in my town with a DSL or DSi. Will have to send it to a friend in other city.

This is only true if you already updated your 3DS to 2.0. I used my 3DS to update my acekard, worked perfectly fine.

Which, BTW, I got the update to work by using Homebrew Menu. Working great

Can someone please help me out. I have a DSi XL system with f/w 1.4.1u. My Acekard 2i has AKAIO v1.8.6 HW 81. I downloaded ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSi142.zip and put the ak2ifw_update_3ds_v2_DSL.nds file on my DS and loaded it up. It keeps telling me "Before update, please eject the card and insert it again. press B to continue." No matter how many times I eject the card and re-insert it, I can't get beyond this screen. Pressing B does nothing.....pressing any button does nothing. Am I missing something? Did I do something wrong? Thanks for your help!

You could try formatting with Panasonic SD formatter, and downloading AKAIO 1.8.7.

No luck. I downloaded the Panasonic SD formatter and formatted my SD card with it and then loaded AKAIO 1.8.7 on to it. Still gives me the same message when I go to update.

Okay, I'm kinda curious about this.

Finally was able to get things sorted with Best Buy regarding the snafu's with my DS lite. Now came home with a fresh new 3DS.

Before this, I had ran that firmware update for the Acekard 2i (mine's HWID is 44), and everything according to it went successfully. 3DS booted up with firmware 1.0.0.0U.

The SCDS2 has also been updated, and shows up perfectly fine on the 3DS; loads up and everything. Plug in my acekard, it actually shows up AS an Acekard 2i in the 3DS's main menu. But when I try to load it, I then get the "an error has occured" dialog on the bottom screen, and have to turn off the 3DS console.

So, what's the dealio? Should I (re)flash the Acekard with my 3DS? Or simply update to 2.0.0.2 now?

Using the latest update from Acekard, HWID44 still have an issue with the 3DS. HWID44 do work on DSi's on 1.4.2 with the latest update however.

Well, crap... I wish I would have known that sooner. Right now, all I have is the 3DS (now at 2.0.0.2, since I did want to go d/l those freebies Nintendo released), and my Supercard DStwo available. I've tried at least loading up the AK firmware updater within the DS two, remembering how the DS lite version would allow me to unplug/replug in the other card, but wouldn't let me get that far. Sucks...

I mail Acekard team about HWID44 issue on 3DS, I got a reply :

Hi,

If you got AK2i icon on your European 3DS,that means the 3DS didn't read the AK2i properly.
AK2i of HWID44 can be updated by this update patch too. But AK2i of HWID44 can't be recognized after using power button to reset the DSi(XL) and 3DS consoles after doing this update. You need power off consoles completely and turn it on again.

Cause the HWID44 AK2i is a very old version which is more than 3 year and it's hardware is different form the new HWID81.So it's really possible to be not very stable.
We'll try hard to do more test and release a new update to fix this problem completely.

Kind regards

Hmm wait... again

Must be something wrong. Have you tried the anti-counterfeit code on the Acekard website?
