This answers come from Hideo Kojima himself, which he spouted during his most recent podcast...

Will you appear at the Microsoft E3 press conference? < -- NO
Will you announce Metal Gear Solid 5?

I couldn't stand the first MGS so, I'm not really interested in the franchise but it's good that Snake Eater 3D will come this year. It'll be a good selling point and it looks great.

The rest of the MGS series is quite different from one. And if you want the first game's story without playing it, there's those PSP digital graphic novels out there or you can just read the summary elsewhere. Or there's the Gamecube remake.

That's true... But gameplay wise, I kinda found MGS3 to be slower than MGS was. I dunno.

Most of the games are a lot of sitting and analyzing. They're not really much about running around shooting people. You have to stay hidden and formulate strategies. How the guards move, if you'll have enough time to get from one point to another before you're spotted, stuff like that.

But if you find the games too slow for you, I suggest Peace Walker and MGS4 at least. More action-y than the other games although you'll still need the stories from the other games to enjoy them.

Oh I wasn't saying I wanted a run'n'gun title, just saying if Ikki didn't like MGS (Possibly for its pace), he isn't going to like MGS3 any more.

I prefer MGS1 to any of the other games in the series (I prefer directed action and cinematography in games, not the "open-ended" feeling one can get with a user-controlled camera), but with the Peace Walker/MGS4 crouch-walk and other features (I hope for over the shoulder aiming), this should at least play a little faster than the original.

Also to note from the quickfire question session- MGS4 will NOT be ported to the NGP.

I am unhappy about this (unless they instead make an amazing new Metal Gear Solid, or a remake of the MSX MGs).

I bet we'll see another collection bundle for the 25th anniversary.

I also bet we'll see some MGS title on Xbox 360, aside from Rising

Why?

Because Konami needs the dough.

15 disc Metal Gear Solid 4: Substance Version. lol.
Well Konami seldom puts MGS titles on other systems than Sony's, excluding pre-PS1 games, and when they do they are remakes (specifically, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes and Metal Gear Solid 3D).

Not the pace, the controls annoy me.

I personally found the Gamecube remake of the original to be more enjoyable then the original itself and I think some players share that sentiment as well. They are generally pretty good games, but when it comes to action games they are certainly unique in that they tell story through a lot of talking which I guess makes sense as games that don't tell their story properly wind up making zero sense.

I am really looking forward to Snake Eater 3D though, I hope it's out in North America before Christmas.

If I were able to pass the PSP with all those Metal Gears, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to pass the 3DS with just one title.

Will it be hard? Yes, but not impossible.
