What if someone promised to give you a present for Christmas, then later suddenly said "On second thought, screw you, I'm not giving you jack shit"? Anyone would get upset/disappointed (Don't act like you won't be, even if it's free). Like the sensible people on this thread said, it's not that we should be ungrateful for what they've done. It just felt disappointing after all that hype and having them dangle it in front of your face.

Blaming whiners and bitchers is the easy way out. I am sure there were many other reasons for the translation stopping. He was just venting and blowing off steam at the insensitive people who harass for an entitlement.

You got yourself hyped up. Other people shouldn't have to make up for your inability to remain rational.

FYI, I never used any of their translations (I followed them in the past for Tales of Hearts, but since they abandoned that project, I couldn't care less). I'm just trying to look at a possibly different POV in regards to the people who were disappointed regarding them quitting.

Besides, there really wasn't any big e-drama before this, so in regards to having "inability to remain rational", I think that it would have been rational to think that they wouldn't suddenly quit.

Even so, the fact he claimed an inability to handle being internet famous and shut down the site makes me lose a lot of respect for everyone involved in his group. It's not like anyone made his group do interviews and announce their plans at the start of a 3-5 year project. The Greater Internet F Theory has been scientifically proven, and he should have taken it into account when making his publicity plans.

You make it sound as if they had only one project which they announced and then quit before finishing. They've worked on several at the same time and finished the Saga 2 translation very recently, so what would you have them? Keep quiet about all their projects from the start until they're completely finished? They would have to go public anyway once the translation was done, plus he didn't quit because of being "internet famous", but for being harassed by trolls and whiners. Or that's what's supposed to be the main reason.

I've actually started working on it. I have the menus about half done, the first pass anyway. I'm having trouble finding the main script and I'll need to find a translator or two once I find it. If anyone is interested in giving me a hand to find the script or translate let me know.

This. And no, i don't think they promised anything, other than guaranteeing the quality of the work they do. And no, they didn't say "screw you", they just decided to not deal with shit anymore. You're disappointed because you got hyped. It's not their fault you got hyped, blame your own expectations. Nobody forces you to EXPECT anything out of anybody, even if they promised it. YOU made yourself expect things.

As I mentioned I'm currently working on SaGa 3. I now have some help with the translation so that should speed things up. Basically just menu text is being worked on at the moment as I have yet to find the main script. i don't have a website or anything yet but once enough work is done to warrant one I'll figure something out.
