Consoles need hard drive or some other source of mass media storage on the console. What I think (see that, that is my opinion), is that a console console that does not bother with removable media for their device will make a lot more profit than a console that wastes their money on lasers and media that burns out faster. The only other thing that can keep the piracy hackers at bay is a way to launch legal homebrew utilizing the full capabilities of the console. Piracy will happen not matter what, but the hacker that want to write media software out of their hobby would be happier without having to fight anti-piracy for their wonderful apps.VashTS said:there really is nothing to add, so i voted no. they are at a stalemate.
if they were smart they would add usb loading as an official method and started selling nintendo branded usb HDD at 30% markup. that would be a cool way for the wii to go out. final update enables usb loading.
on a side note, it annoys me that these companies don't include this with their systems. i understand the reason behind it, discs have a lifespan, so they are more profitable. i would probably buy some games if i could copy them to hdd and play. on second thought, nah i probably wouldn't. lol.
This is the one thing I've wanted since the beginning. It's also the one priiloader hack I've wanted since the Twilight Hack was found.person66 said:The only one thing that I can think of that would be useful for them to add (other than official USB loading, which is never going to happen) is gamecube controller support on the Wii menu, and maybe theming.

I had a lot of faith in the Nintendo hacking scene after the flashcart industry exploded.xzxero said:before priiloader was invented?

There were a few games that were meant for the gamecube but came out so late that they made it for the wii instead.
It was done like that just to mess YOU up.Wever said:EDIT: aw, crap! Accidentally voted 'yes' (why is that option in the bottom, btw? I'm used to yes/no questions...not no/yes questions)

The PS3 security was strong but thats not why it remained unhacked for so long. It remained unhacked for so long because we could already run unsigned code on it through OtherOS but when sony got rid of that feature homebrewers were upset and began working on solutions to make it possible again. the security isn't weak but clearly Sony made a fatal mistake. Either way It's impossible to speculate how or when the "Wii 2" will be hacked However I can safely say that it's very likely that there will never be a game system produced by Nintendo that isn't hacked.

I would say that using a security system where a "random" number is the same number every time is pretty weak man. That most likely could have been found a while back, just no one was really looking.
