Details continue to trickle out about Nintendo’s most anticipated first party titles as we inch our way towards E3 and the June release of Zelda.

New details have been released regarding the multiplayer mode on Starfox 64 for the 3DS. It has been announced that multiplayer mode will be local only, and not allow for internet gaming. Up to four players can battle it out at once, and friends can join using download play. This, of course, eliminates the need for multiple cartridges in order to have a quick fight among buddies.

New images and details are also available for the Water Temple in Zelda: Ocarina of Time. According to details from a fan who had the opportunity to preview portions of the game, some details have been changed slightly to make playing through this Temple less frustrating. This includes allowing the iron boots to be equipped, and upping the number of slots for equippable items.

4 players and one Starfox Cartridge playing together locally. Just like the old days... those 3 times I ever played Starfox 64's multiplayer.

The Water Temple has patterns on some of the walls to guide players to the spots that raise/lower the water level.

Well you fight in the air in star fox, so I assume he prefer that game to Zelda with has the Water Temple.

You can use the Land Master tank in Star Fox 64 local multiplayer missions, only the ones with land though. If I recall correctly you needed to use it to obtain certain paths to locked missions that required going special routes. The same goes for the Arwing missions as well. Personally, I will only buy Star Fox if they make it so that you can use the control slider in 3D mode, because it seems like it will be frustrating trying to control your ship while still viewing the 3D with the gyroscopic mode.

No internet play? Why does Nintendo keep on going backwards?

And I'm assuming that single-cart local multiplayer will have less features than multi-cart.

He's referencing Falco from SSBB.

I actually laughed a lot more than I thought I would at that. Very nicely timed.

I'm glad that they're adding those lines to help players in the Water Temple. I do hope, though, that they remove them for Master Quest. Ya know, just to experience the frustration of the original again.

Though, to be completely honest, I don't remember having much trouble in the Water Temple. It's been a long time, so maybe I'm recalling incorrectly, but I do recall having more trouble in the Shadow Temple than in the Water one.

Still good news, though.

Fuck StarFox64. I want a StarFox remake.
Personally I think we should get a Starfox 2 remake.

Think a little: The original Starfox is also very difficult to emulate properly due to the FX chip. So it would make sense to remake the game since it cannot be emulated.

Also, Starfox used the most basic of 3d graphics. Imagine the same gameplay with modern graphics! What a trip that would be.

The music does not need remaking. The music can, and should, stay exactly the same.

Why remake Starfox 64? Why not remake the better game: Starfox? Starfox cannot be emulated. And it could use the graphic enhancement far more than Starfox 64 did. Besides, Starfox correctly kept the story crap on the manual where it belongs.

He's talking about the unreleased StarFox 2 for the SNES. Not StarFox 64.
