Which would be better Im thinking upgrading cfw to pro-b 6.35 or there are more much stable version
because I like to have access to psn store which is now not availble in Gen-d3 even with plugins ( correct me if Im wrong )

could anyone post me some links or post the instructions on how to change cfw ( I dont like to get bricked ) I dont have tools to unbrick if it happens (like the pandora battery)

because I read to other sites that gen is quite old and it needs patching in almost all latest games that recently released

6.20 PRO-B5 has the same features as the 6.35 version, with the added ability to be permanently installed like the 5.50 CFW. Yes it still has PSN access (but the PSN is down right now).

The 6.x firmwares lack some plugin, homebrew, and PSX compatibility. Is your focus just PSP games?

Logically 6.20 and 6.35 may have differing PSX compatibility. Then again they may not have if they were just security updates.

if I update there is no turning back right and the saves needs to be converted?

Theres a tool where you can downgrade 6.35 to 6.20. Yeah, the dudes here are right. Go with pro. You can't go wrong there

Did lemski said that he would stay with gen (5.50), cause that's what I understood from his last post.
QUOTE said:
I should stick up with gen because the newer ones tend to have instabilities
From his first post where he mentioned that he wanted to get access to psn, I thought that it might be helpful to him if I point the existence of psnlover.

If I'm getting something wrong from this discussion, you're more than welcomed to explain it to me.

Update if you only play PSP games.
If you play alot of PSX gamse or using homebrews, i recommed that you stay at that firmware.

That must be rough. Productive I'm sure but hard to balance with daily life

@Maximumbeans, Indeed. I've been working on getting this Infecutus chip to work on my PS2. But after soldering, I realised that a plastic piece was missing from the power ribbon cable to the power and eject buttons.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Now I could go with soldering the contacts from the cable to the connector on the mobo, but doesn't sound like a good permanent solution.

Man, that's beyond my brain  I'm no good with hardware for now. I'd like to get into hardmods in future though

@Maximumbeans, Maybe start practice soldering. Get a cheap-ass soldering iron and follow some good YouTube tutorials.

Least my experience has gotten better than over a decade ago. My iron would constantly bump into components and break them.
  • Maximumbeans @ Maximumbeans:
Sounds good. I actually did soldering but like 16 years ago for school so uuuuh probably rusty haha
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Maximumbeans, Same here. I did soldering at school from a teacher who I honestly liked since he had plenty of good electronics experience.
