ROM Hack [Completed] Love Plus English Translation Patch

okay so I noticed something petite,

when a meeting with post-confession Rinko ends
she greets you goodbye by saying:

-Ja~!Kore de!..

the translation comes up as:

-okay, here!

it would have been correct under another circumstance
but it kinda makes you wonder what she means greeting you like that,
it probably should have been something different(?),

like:

-okay, that's all!(?)

or

-okay, this is it!(?)

or probably,
-okay, here is fine!(?)
(to highlight the "you can leave me here" meaning)

Dgrin, thanks. I'll fix that.

I'll also need to go through Rinko and Nene's scripts. I found a lot of mistakes that need to be fixed too. It's easier to spot the mistakes when you actually play the game, so if anyone see anything that sounds wrong, please help letting us know.

In most of the scripts, we have to guess the situation and the location that the conversation takes place. Sometimes we misinterpreted the meanings. (The early script had one dialog mentioned "turkey" when you went bowling. After a few editing, the whole dialog turned into something about eating turkey, when "turkey" in this dialog actually means "3 strikes in a row."

I was wondering,..will you be unlocking any further images or dreams etc at the post-confession part?
seems there's all those blank slots, and one of my favorite parts from the game is those pin-up images,lol..

to be honest I have yet to figure out the true meaning of the game after the confession,
I better read that website some more, maybe it will help me "discover" anything I might be missing out,
I'm playing real-time and it doesn't feel like there's much to do there like before the confession,
not to mention I'm nocturnal so the girls are fast asleep by the time I turn on my DS,XDXD
thinking of changing to Skip Mode but I'll first give real time another chance after I read some more,
maybe I'll wait till my birthday to see how this will turn out with the digital Harem,lol
(slot#1 Manaka+Slot#2 Rinko want to give me presents while Nene is close to confessing too,lol)

i was recently going for rinko, and darn, one of the walk home script wasn't translated.

I haven't posted the scripts for that part yet, but you can check the Japanese scripts at TLWiki if you need to know. (Maybe some Google Translate will help giving some rough idea.

)

@Dgrin, you can change your DS's clock or the game's in-game clock if you want. (Like change it so that the day time in the game is the night time in real world, etc.)

Thank you very much for the new patch. It got me up to the point of confession (76 days, scared me because i couldn't skip dialogue)

Though, i went by one day on the Nene path (My original one) and it went straight back to Japanese. I should try to avoid going home with her, like... All the time.

even if you don't understand Japanese you should finish those parts too,
most of the non-translated parts are saved in your data files(for the pre-confession part,)
so you can re-watch these when a later patch will be released and more of these scripts will be translated,
also some of the post-confession un-translated parts you'll encounter them many times,

I was wondering..i remember reading earlier in this thread, that you can extract the 3D files of the girls,
is that true and what format are they in? ...cause we can possible convert them and open them
with a program like Miku Miku Dance etc, and make them move and pose and dance,lol...

vandawn, the game from now on is probably like a digital "pet-o" you can talk to or date her in different locations anytime of the day based on your stats and unlocking stuff,etc..
something like a girl-form tamagotchi I assume,lol..it would have been nicer if they had added some every-day mini DS arcade games based on the daily program you choose and stuff,
(artistic class? draw an object, paint/trace a picture with the stylus and get points,..tennis class? play a tennis arcade where Manaka services the ball and you have to catch it etc)

I'm eager to see the changes when the new season will come, the girls will change uniform
and a lot of the stuff will be different from how we play them now in spring, I'm really enjoying this English patch to the max,lol

you do know that you can change between real time and skip modes whenever you want right?
the thing with real time mode is that you get to see special events like, birthdays (yours and the girls) holydays like chistmas etc
skip mode is actually more useful for discovering new locations on the game and date the girls at a faster pace but you cannot see the special events

the way i play... i start always with real time and organize my schdule and the switch to skip mode that way you keep the stat boost for the real time day

just in case.... dont ask her on a date on skip mode and then switch to real time (youll be not showing on that date) if you ask her out on skip mode... You HAVE to go to that date or cancel it otherwise she ll be pissed

but it's also a good idea to start in real-time
before you organize everything and do the switch,

I followed the patching instructions, but absolutely nothing happened. No new ROM with "_patch" at the end, not even an error message or something.
Ive never done this before, but it doesnt seem like I could have misunderstood the instructions, theyre so simple.

EDIT: Nevermind. @_______@ Why was the file on my desktop instead? How weird....

For "Let's be nice to each other.", it's "yoroshiku" or "yoroshiku onegaishimasu." phrase.

Some manga/anime even leave the phrase as "yoroshiku" written in English but I think we should translate it.)

I've seen Hinamatsuri in a couple of anime, I think.

Thanks for the links. Yoroshiku still feels weird though. Most of those translations aren't very common in conversation, and I feel like you'd have to make some leeway to make it something people commonly say [I can't even think of something in English that has the same function other than something like, "Let's get along/work well together/etc."].

Anyway, excluding Yoroshiku [*coughNewYearsScriptcough*], I've gone through Manaka's 32-50. I should have a bit more time now that exams are over, even if the problem is just getting myself to sit down and do these. I was kind of liberal with some of these changes [which I'm somewhat worried about], but hopefully I made things easy to read without destroying any meanings or something.

Edit: How informal are we allowed to be with our English? Also, I wish I could hear the voices for some of these scripts if they have them.

It depends. Like, Manaka is quite a formal girl. But Manaka in pink personality tends to be more informal compared to other personalities. Rinko is usually informal (and impolite at times.) But she also has one personality that's quite formal. (The green one.) I've only been with one personality of Nene so I don't know much about her.

The problem is, we don't know which personality is speaking in the scripts until we really play it. So, I guess, just make it a bit neutral, not too formal and not too informal, just to be safe.

I don't know what to do with the voices either. Again, you can't hear it unless you really play and reach that part of the game. And to test the New Year's script, you'll have to sacrifice your save file and forward your DS clock to the New Year's. And to hear all the scripts, you'll have to have at least 3 saves with all different personalities. (That's why I don't run beta-testing, but let the players report the errors instead. Sometimes, if you act like a jerk and keep ignoring her, you will activate a different set of dialogs too.

)

By the way, I'm not sure who else is on the editing now, but if you need some communication tool, like a shout box or something on the loveplustrans site, please let me know. I can add that.

I'll really have to leave the editing to you guys as I'm not very good at it. So, yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

ok, I'm really getting into the rhythm of the real-time mode,lol..
things move slowly, but that's how it would go in real life too I guess,lol
I make sure not to miss the dates we set and then if i switch it only at night
I can just watch the every-day stuff which are saved on the "swap" of the calendar,
but there are new stuff starting to appear and I enjoy it,

they all gave me stuff for my birthday,lol...I loved Rinko's the most!

Actually, you don't have to. Just back up your save file on your PC, forward your DS clock and test as much as you'd like and once you'd like to go to your proper save, just delete (or move to PC) the new one and replace it with the backuped one.

Actually, you don't have to. Just back up your save file on your PC, forward your DS clock and test as much as you'd like and once you'd like to go to your proper save, just delete (or move to PC) the new one and replace it with the backuped one.

You're right. Thanks. We can do that too.

BTW, I found some color glitches for the text during the dating scenes. If the date ended with 9 (9th, 19th, 29th), color for number 9 will be off in real time mode date. And for the skip mode date, the letter "d." for day will change colors after a kiss scene.

when you go to love plus mode with manaka
and you touch the screen where she is and you see her whole body
when the screen goes back she says something in japanese.
i tested it with rinko also and she just says nani? which means what?
dunno if i am right but manaka should have said something like that and not japanese

another thing when you go in love plus mode with rinko she said "you come again" at the begining
shouldnt it be "you came again"
and again dunno if i am right but i just had to report it to you

There's one portion of Manaka's scripts in Love Plus Mode that I haven't translated. It's hidden in the debugging scripts and I'll have to make sure I don't ruin any file structure if I change something there. This will eventually be translated but it might takes a little while. (They're just some short lines, like "Hmm...?" or "What?" or "Eh?" or something like that.)

I'll look at Rinko's scripts later. Thanks so much.

By the way, so far, no one has confirmed whether the communication mode works or not. So if anyone has 2 DS's and can test the communication dialogs, please help. (Just use Connection menu and let the girls talk and see if there's anything wrong.) Thank you.
