Well the creator of the 3DS save dumper confirmed that another person tried to dump a 3ds rom but the problem is that the roms are encoded

I think that there are certain groups that have been able to run 3ds roms. But I think they do not public for fear.

I havent heard of it yet. But I think it should be possible.
What would you want to do with the rom anyway? Cant really do much at the moment.
bit of chicken and egg, that - people say there is no need for emus because there are no roms, and people say there is no need for roms because nothing can be done with them.

dumping a game would be the first step and I'm sure various groups are working hard on that as we speak

I don`t think so because the comands you have to send to read the card are encrypted.

The debugger/capture model 3DS would be nice too.

It's worth a try using that DS Card save dumper to see if it'll work on 3DS
I could've sworn that's been attempted and it didn't pull out a rom.

QUOTE(WiiBricker @ Mar 27 2011, 06:04 PM) Wait, we can extract 3DS saves off a 3DS cart? I thought 3DS saves are stored in the NAND?
With the adapter you can extract saves from 3DS carts.
Not all carts worked so far aparently and they are updating to make it work with all game carts.
Where is this info coming from? Just so I can read for myself.... Last I read was that 3DS saves didn't save to the cart itself but onto something in the 3DS.

The saves are stored in the cart n_n. Extra data is stored in the 3DS.

You guys realize that it's not possible to dump 3DS games with the 3DS due to the slot being locked when you attempt to exchange carts? Which means Wood Dumper and NDS Backup Tool like applications wont work. You need at least a flashcart-less softmod but given the fact that this even didnt happen with the DSi and that the hackers who are able to actually achieve such things are no pirates, makes it highly improbable that a scene release ever hits the internet.

So it's like-
Monkey Ball 3D- 256MB
Ghost Recon- 256MB
LSW3- 512MB

Looks like none of these have come close to the maximum cartridge limit (2GB). Wonder if any of the launch titles use the full allotted 2GB that is available.

I'm going to assume Tales of the Abyss is the first rom to go over 1gb, at least, I hope it goes up at least 1gb...I think PS2 one was 3.75gb? I hope they didn't compress the audio. I'll know in 2 weeks I guess

Dunno about knowing in two weeks. They're only dumping EU games and it's not coming out in Europe for a while. Unless you're getting the Japanese version and meant you'll find out about the audio.
