Okay, I don't mean to offend mauifrog by this, but I prefer modmii, and it is what I would recommend for noobs. I would recommend updating to 4.2. But, you don't have to update officially. To load USB Backups, you really don't need the trucha bug installed on the IOS's or all that crap. All you need is d2x cIOS and CFG Loader.

Also, I would actually not recommend using WBFS with USB Loader GX, and actually instead recommend you use FAT32 and CFG Loader. The wads you can load with Mighty Channels, SNEEK, or just install on to Wii. I'm not sure if the wads and stuff can be stored on 2 gb sd card, I would just recommend running it all off of the USB Drive (If you use FAT homebrew and wads can be stored too). You could probably fit some wads and homebrew in, but the ISO's can be fairly large (even after being scrubbed). Also, you can always just install the Wads onto your actual wii, making them very easy to launch.

Noob, here.

Question.

If I where to mod my Wii or any wii for that matter, and I have downloaded content such as songs for Rockband 3 on an SD Card, will I be able to play the songs on the modded Wii even if they are not registered to that Wii?

My current Wii makes noises like its about to die so I was thinking of just getting a new one and modding it. But as of this post I have absolutely no previous knowledge about what can be done with a modded Wii.

I'm not sure if those songs are protected by no-copy protection, or if they are considered saves, but you probably could...

Edit: Noises like it's about to die?

For several reasons... It makes it easier to have homebrew and wii ISO's on the same SD/USB (Yes, I do no you can have multiple partitions, but this makes it so you don't have to pre decide how much space to allocate to each partition, and changing the size can make the partition corrupt) Also, WBFS has had some stability issues, where some games have been made to be corrupt. Also, you computer cannot read WBFS. And CFG Loader is just a personal preference...

Okay... That is not your Wii about to die, it is probably either a broken fan, or dvd drive.... (Is that a dog in the background?) If you have not modded that Wii yet, you could probably send to Nintendo and mod it afterwards...

Oookay so it`s me again lol..
I`ve managed to get more games working.
However...
SSBB will give me a black screen after I defeat kirby!
It`s said that it stops because it has to load a new video.. and somehow my wii won`t oO.
I`ve changed the start ios to m222 but it still didn`t work - i get stuck whenver the wii has to load a new video.

Is there a way to fix that?
Thanks!

Do you have the DVD5 or DVD9 version? Are you playing from DVD or USB? Maybe it's a bad image?

NTSC, playing from HD.
I`m sure this isn`t a bad image.. Game plays fine, just hangs when there`s a new video to load so I have to force turn off the wii.
Using USB cfg loader

Could you please say me the filesize? You should try it with IOS224 v5.1 IOS57 base, I played through the whole mode without any lag or crash.

The size is correct, that's the normal DVD9 size, so very strange that it doesn't work. Do you have cheats enabled, patches? You could also check the drive for errors, maybe there is one. If nothing help, delete and redump the image.

It may be that the you got a "hacked version" of SSBB where they remove large files like videos. Also, it could be an IOS reload, I don't know if SSBB does this, or if the IOS/Loader can protect against it...

, I'm out of date so it may not be a problem any more. Check out the section Backup Loading, and I'll search around for you..
