.... so, is THIS it...?
and i winder... by saying "junk data" does that mean that Wii ISO REALLY have data that is not needed so the game can play normally?
blink.gif
... i mean, is that "Junk data" there only to fill up the space so that Wii ISO will hawe EXACTLY 4.699.979.776 bytes, so the disc could be read by wii?
smile.gif

The main advantage is the reduction in file size the WBFS format allows, as Wii discs are filled with padding data that must be present in the ISO but that the WBFS file system can strip away. This can allow some smaller games to go from a 4.7 GB (4.37 GiB) ISO file to less than a hundred megabytes as any unused space on the disk will be filled by this padding data.

Before I go ahead with this, is it safe to install a Japanese WAD, like the internet browser, or a Japanese VC game on my U Wii console or will it brick it? If I can, how is it done?
Just moving this to the next page.

Just to boot, I was able to fit Wii Music, Wii Sports and NSMB Wii on a 1GB USB stick. And have room to spare.

So I have a Wii with 4.3u - it is the same Wii I bought on launch day. I have no mods on it at all.

I've watched some youtube videos and read the readme for ModMii and it sounds great.

I want to know if I should just use softmod or get a hardware mod.

My goal is to play games without using the disc reader. Mine has become really loud and i have a feeling its going to die soon.

I just plan to play the games I already have such as Wii Fit, Wii Sports, Zelda and a few others. I can't tell if there are expected conflicts with running these from USB.

Can someone please help me?
I have modded my Wii with modmii and I`m playing some games via USB..
Half of them work, the other half not.
I`m on 4.3U and, for example, I get a black screen when trying to open a US copy of Twilight Princess and a EU copy of Mario Party 8.. on the other hand, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Mario Kart 8 play just fine!!!

I`m just the average joe when it comes to hacking, so maybe I`m doing something wrong.
Is there any settings I should change for the games that aren`t working??
Using USB Loader and games are on the external hard drive!

Thanks!

What cIOS's do you have installed?

All that modmii told me to

I think USB loader launches them as 249 (is that what a cios is? lol)..

QUOTE(XFlak @ Mar 31 2011, 07:49 PM) he used ModMii so he would have cIOS249 d2x v3 base 56

chances are that the games that aren't working for u are bad rips. Try re-ripping them... and if u downloaded them... well, shame on u
wink.gif

Hmm.. I wonder why would them be bad rips if the other games are playing just fine! But I`ll try to re rip them later today.
I was just wondering if it`s something that usb loader could fix itself..
Ps.: I was gonna try uneek+di but I found it difficult and was afraid to do something wrong (especially because i don`t even know what it actually is)

Thanks!

If you want to use UNEEK+DI you can't possibly break the wii trying to set it up. Just let modmii do the work it really is a wonderful tool. It bassically emulates the internal NAND Flash from the Hard drive. The +DI part means that it will also be able to load games off the drive and mount them in the disc channel. Give it a try if you want. I for one would recomend it. As for the non working games First which loader are you using and second were they scratched or damaged in anyway?

Hmmm.. i`ll look into modmii but I rlly don`t even know what Nand is lol.. (sorry i`m rlly dumb on this). But I do have the backup of my nand on my computer! What will it actually do to the rips themselves?
I`m using usb loader cfg and the non working games, as you can see, are the oldest ones - so it kind of makes sense that they`re bad rips!
