I got Pokemon Black and White to run, but the touch screen froze... I tested very few due to lack of time, but most games were from Another World's list, and my findings were pretty similar. My Healthy Cooking Coach was one of the few games I got "working," though after I started using camera the system froze... Most games encountered issues as standard DS Games running under DSi Mode.

I was not able to get any DSi enhanced game working at all, does it take a while to search for a good dump? I spent over 30min and still cannot find a working dsi game.... =( I need 1 or 2 for my review at least lol

What? Pokémon Black is a japanese DSi Hybrid game.

How should that work in DSi mode on a non-japanese DSi?

Cyclo DSi doesn't even support japanese DSis...

Oh. Nice, Gariscus. I didn't know that. So CycloDSi unlocks the region lock - in theory?

I'm hearing that for the first time, you know...

Yes. As long as the DSi allows the iEvo to boot it can then bypass the region lock and launch DSi only, DSi enhanced games from any region. Unfortunately only a US and EU bootstrap exist.

QUOTE(Qtis @ Feb 25 2011, 07:46 PM) And you obviously haven't read anything the team has posted about the DSi mode

The DSi mode is very BETA at the moment and loading commercial ROMs may lead to problems as stated in TC forums (don't have time to check the post where it was, but it still is there). I really do hope for a new firmware update since the current firmware does have problems with DSi mode. The problem with the DSi parts exists and it is easy to read from the .nfo of the Bravissi Mots Legacy dump also available on GBAtemp (DSi0007 IIRC). Sure some groups do make correct dumps but the firmware might still need a few tweaks regarding DSi enhanced ROMs.

boobeee, did you really have to post the same post in THREE different threads?
Gariscus, did you really have to chase him down and post the same answer in all three threads?

sorry about th@ i was bored....

And the best thing you thought to do was bash every thread with a response that doesn't give much to go with.. And just for your info, a new BETA fw will be released in a few days. Maybe that'll help you with your problems. But then again it doesn't make the Compatibility layer out of BETA.

On topic: I haven't found that much that doesn't work on the DSi mode. If you check the whole DS library of games (Currently around 5600), not that many games have problems in DSi mode. I've played quite a few games so far without any compatibility problems (ie the ROM loads, saves and works as should).

Yipes, looks like they're still making them flimsy. I heard the DSTwo has decent casing though, but how is competition in general anyway? (If price were ignored)

Competition-wise, the iEvo is pointless if you don't have a DSi. Supposing you do, you are betting on the motivation of the homebrew coders of the scene who have DSi's who feel up for the coding challenge to bring you anything beyond what the DSTWO can currently do. On the other hand, if you like homebrew and happen to have a DSi, then the iEvo does have the pluses in which some homebrew can run faster and smoother than on the DSTWO, but in that case, you are still relying on Team Cyclops to perfect their compatibility layer.

Got my iEVO from realhotstuff march 13th *problem with shipping through them the product didn't receive nearly the protection it needed the tins lid came off and the card had bounced around.. my usual place Dealwoot went under and they always secured the tin lid on products with a few peices of masking tape*

Build quality- yes its bad but nothing a precision screw driver, dust free room, fine grit file and super glue couldn't fix. Its batch 1 so its not surprisng the build quality is lacking *just like the batch 1 of nearly every other flash cart out there some had better build quality in their first batches the majority had crap build quality* Once I got the card put back together after disasembly, filing off certain areas on the inside of the card and on the tabs, and some application of superglue then on the label it self to adhere it better the card fits and works fine.

Setup-A little bunk that I had to do so much work but like any setup I always format my card with the one sd formater and start fresh, didn't like the fact I had to find roms to create the bootstrap but I can understand from a getting sued point of view.

Compatibility-Since I waited till 2.2 firmware was released I'm not having nearly the problems every one else seems to have. yes DSi enhanced games dont seem to work very well *but what other card runs games made specifically for the DSi anyways and with all their features intact? when those cards dont even work in DSi mode?* But it seems to me the majority of problems people are having and complaining about is compatibility and support from the homebrew community..Nearly all other cards had these problems at the start the only ones that didn't were ones that already had a base of support from firmware ripped from discontinued cards.

Price: a little pricey at 47 dollars but your really paying for support in the end, TC didn't fail me when it came to the evolution and when I upgraded to DSi it doesn't seem like they will fail me on the iEVO.
Price and its value is subjective its different for each person so really If you want a card that will work and continue to get better past what other cards offer then you get Team cyclos products.
*just finished sonic colors on his DSi, gonna work on Realms of revelation next*

i have to ask, im a bit sketchy on buying this, since im upgrading to a DSiXL soon, i wanted to use the DSi portion of a few game and wanted to know this, so sorry if i missed this in another review post:

has anyone reviewed the pokemon black & white games on this puppy yet, from what a few said, that it froze with them and some said that it didn't boot >__>, so does anyone have an idea, if its just the SD card you use with it?

say, i know i have a decent sandisk microSD card, runs without slowdown on most cards i have owned or borrowed from friends, so would that make a difference or should i hold out till the bugs are worked out of it

as for the GUI look, yeah i would have to say that did look basic but im so used to my SCDS2 cart that anything other than Acekard looks basic anymore

i mean if it does get the bugs worked out, i might be willing to give my SCDS2 a rest for awhile and run this puppy

It does have some problems with game compatibility in DSi mode since it has just been released and the compatibility layer is very new. Pokemon games haven't been fixed yet since the last fw (fw2.2) arrived a day or two before the games where released in the EU/US. The Japanese version has been fixed. Not that many games have problems and games like Sonic Collection run at full speed on the iEvo (using the DSi hw). I've used the review sample I received for about over a month and only a few games have issues on it and usually it's related to DSi mode WiFi (it has problems at the moment). The GUI is very easy to use and I can say that it's easy to learn to use the advance features too (basically all menu features are accessed via the Y-button and ingame menu via the soft reset combination).

Different hardware and different firmware. This should be enough to explain everything. It may actually be that something new must be added to the original loader to load correctly in DSi mode on the 3DS. Anything is possible since no one know how the 3DS works AFAIK.
