Well need a little help

I was on wiiflow 1.1 working great. Got 2tb drive format fat32, install games. I tryed wifflow 2.2 304 (249) and 2.2 304 (222). In one I get a black screen. The other I get all the way to see the covers and than it freezes. I think am on custom cios 18. Is there a stable 2.2 that reads fat32 and were can I get it.

I install the 2.2 304(249and 222) on a new sd card. still got this problem.

am also misisng the wiiflow.ini file. Does anyone have it for 304 or 254?

Install cIOS rev19 or higher, also , the hermes versions on google code are broken, so if your HDD needs to be woken up, come to irc and type !help in the channel to get the hermes version, then your problem should go away

The best version ( for me ) is the 2.1 R92 A : no code dump , no covers corruption , no problem with mp3 !

As I said above, the current release of wiiflow, you can not have it run and launch games, that is its most basic functionaility and a lot of the time it crashes doing this, so how will releasing something that restores this albeit possibly breaking certain customisation options or whatever else. If it can run fine and boot games, I can't see why it would be left when the current "stable" release is actually less "stable" than previous releases

As you say, they have personal lives, other projects, so you never know, wiiflow may well get fully dropped regardless of them saying it won't. Just can't see why they are holding on to something that is better than what is currently out.
Donkey Plonk, i personally would like to thank you for your input, and i also noticed people reporting the same things you pointed out.

Never the less i like to comment on a few of your comments:

About Wiiflow being abandoned: Be assured that the wiiflow team has not stopped and is not out to fail the project.
Anyone i talk to from the team still has faith that the devs will deliver a new stable wiiflow version.

About the testers: they do more than just test, some of them also are wiiflow themers, they put a lot of their spare time into testing and playing. The devs also test every bit of code they have written.

Now about the "stable" remark, i always install wiiflow r304 on my friends wii, so far i haven't got any complaints from them and i know at least a dozen people that do not have the crashes you describe.
I am not saying that you are doing something wrong, but r304 is a beta, as Spidy pointed out, and we help a lot of people in the IRC channel wich have similar problems, we can not help all people but the one's we can help usually have problems with their setup.

The point here is that there are many different Wii setups and it is a challenge to make a usbloader which will work with every Wii setup, as we also can see from other USB loaders like USBloader GX or Neogamma.

Wow, what a discussion we get about this, let me finish by saying that it is alway good to give your opinion or your comment about homebrew, but you must have said something wrong to trigger this kind of response Donky Plonk.
I know a lot of the ppl in the IRC channel and normally they are alway trying to help and not telling someone off.

If that is not the case then my apologies for that, too bad we cannot control everybody on the IRC channel.

Anyway, i do hope that when the final new release is there, you still want to try it.

Regards,

well, I'm really looking forward for the development of this homebrew, so far I haven't got any problems with any game (except alt-dols games like MPT -which I haven't been able to play at all outside of the main menu, even while selecting the alt dols on disk-, though, most people are suffering about this anyways, out of CFGX users)

only thing I have gotten so far is that after being "too long" on the coverflow menu looking at games (like, showing off to family or friends that I don't need to insert my loads of purchased games anymore) you can get a black screen or a code dump while launching a game (nothing that a restart can't repair), though, this doesn't happen 100% of the time....but it does happen, though, I'm quite sure it happens only on games loaded from USB disk devices like seagate/wd 1tb+ drives, since I never got this using an 8g USB kingston datatraveler....no matter how long I browsed...

so...yeah, something that could take a little longer to "take over" since it seems to be "hardware type specific" (or maybe something related to load of data?, since it is a heavy load having 200g+ of games in it), but nothing the team can't blast over

excellent job!

i wished people stopped complaining about 304 being a release. IT IS NOT A RELEASE. IT IS A PUBLIC BETA. So offcourse there will be some bugs in it. But for now it will be the only beta released to the public as newer versions have other bugs that are less stable than 304.
Miigotu is working on getting the MP3 issues out of wiiflow that are making the complete loader buggy. Give him some time to iron out this problem, after that is done, we will get to better times again

I find it very strange that the only version available for download on the project download page is the latest public beta that everybody says is unstable. Why not let people download the latest stable release (r92) aswell? I think a lot of people just wants a loader that works and don't care about beta testing new features.

r92 is still available, also, not "everybody" has problems with wiiflow 304. For me it is rockstable, most people experiencing issues have problems with their hdd setup or hdd itself

I haven't had any issues with 304 either and i that's the version i give to all my friends/co workers ext.. and i never hear complaints from them either.

I think the biggest thing that people are doing wrong is not doing a fresh install of 304 but rather just replacing the dol file and that's it.

I have had issues in the past with previous versions and a fresh install usally fixed the problem.

I reckon it could be hard drive related. I have a WD my passport 500GB, my mate same drive, he noticed the crashes before me. Both fresh installs.
I've been bitching too much anyway, I was thinking, with all the developments, who knows, maybe the next stable wiiflow release will also be fully sneek/uneek compatible. I know Joyflow is doing pretty good in that but ya never know, they may be interested in it

We are working on NAND Emu as well but that won't be till WiiFlow 2.3, we need to get 2.2 stable now before adding any more features.

Hello,

Donkey kong country returns

tx

try updating your cIOS if your not on 19 or higher, also updating your wiiflow (read as "do a clean install") to the newest available version will help
it could still be a bad dump that you are using
Why are you using ISO files, get wbfs manager and convert it to a wbfs file.

Next time please give us more detailed info about your problems and your setup.
If you need more help, come to irc and someone will help, but you need to stick around for someone to help you

Like koenh, I get an error 'Disc_SetUSB failed' while trying to start ANY game from FAT32/NTFS (installed also by Wii Backup Manager and Wiiflow). Games are finded correctly, but unplayable. When formated on WBFS, games run without any problem.
Details: Wiiflow 2.2 / system menu 4.3e / 8GB Goodram pendrive / games stored also in *.wbfs and *.iso
