Quick question!
I bought a 1 Tbit passport harddrive today. I partitioned half of it, and then used wbfs intelligent 6. To format the half I wanted to use for games. After converting my isos I tried my games out. All seem to work except now Black Ops, and Monster Hunter Tri. 2 games that worked on my 250gig passport, and I still have them correctly set up on my sd card. Now when the games start to load. My Wii disc drive lights up, and then it just freezes. Any idea why this would now happen? Is the bigger HD now causing some new problem. The bigger HD passport now has 3.0 usb connection compared to the old 2.0

Why bother with WBFS? Just format it as FAT32 or NTFS. Both are better formats and will give you a lot less trouble in the long run.

Well yes I been told that, but it really has nothing to do with my problem. I even tried again by reformatting the drive again under those settings. Loading the game, and they still freezes at the loading screen. When I play them on the smaller HD no problems at all. So it has something to do with the bigger drive. Still only affecting a few games.

thats a curious thing to say. you do realize that you havent told us what cios you are using, what slot its in, who wrote it, what revision it is, or even what loader you are using, and its version, right?

when things arent working right, maybe its time to leave the self-diagnosis behind.

So saying that the only variable that changed was a increase in harddrive is not enough! It goes from working to not working all because I switch to a bigger drive! I mean he didn't answer the question. He just said why you using that. WBFS has nothing to do with it since it was working before. I even reformatted the drive under the formats he suggested, and it still didn't help.

4.3 upgraded with ModMii. Using the correct iso for Hunter and Blacks Ops. Since the don't load with 249. One is 224 and the other I can't remember right now. Using the same SD card that is setup to play them. This is CFG Loader thread so I figure that would be common sense that I'm using it. Any way using CFG Loader current version. Went from a 250 Passport to a 1 Tbit Passport. Both games were added using Wbfs Intelligent 6. All the other games on the bigger harddrive works like they did on the smaller one. Only Monster Hunter and Black Ops now will not load. Everything is current ModMii as of this week. So all the current files that's in the system.

At this point it really isn't that important. I's just going to stick with the smaller drive. Since it works no matter what. I was just trying to figure out why a upgrade in memory size. Would cause a game not to load.

You should give all the info so people can help. If you are using an older cios, it might not recognize your new drive as well. Try this setup with your cios's, seems to work like a charm for me anyways. also you could do away with the sd and put all that info on your usb. Faster loading times.
cIOS222[38]-v5
cIOS223[37]-v5
cIOS224[57]-v5
cIOS249[37]-v21d2xslot247
cIOS249[38]-v21d2xslot248
cIOS249[56]-v21d2x
cIOS250[57]-v21d2x
With this setup just about everything works with cIOS249[56]-v21d2x and a few need cIOS250[57]-v21d2x.

Also should update your forwarder
USBLoaderCFG - UCXF - IOS58 v9 Alternative

All files mentioned above you can get with Modmii

I have a 2 gb fat32 partition set active and rest of drive is ntsf and still on system menu 4.1 with updated cios's and channels.
Hope this helps.

ok i had kind of the same problem with black ops on my fat32 drive i fixed it by using 224v5with ios57 as a base, if that dose not work then check your rip of the game sometimes it dose get messed up when you transfer from drive to drive. as far as file systems go though i recomend switching from wbfs to fat32 most game sizes stay the same but thats realy your prefrance
and it realy seems people are having a lot of trouble with modmii, im glad i do most of my updates and installs using wan's and hermes offical installers.

i dont know if anyone else figured it out but we dare works with ios 250 with ios 57 as a base

Thanks for the suggestions! At this point I have no time to try and set it up again. Maybe this week I will give it another try. Thanks for the help.

sure, common sense to you and maybe to me, but people ask gx questions in here all the time.

there are four variants of the 'current version' - each one, strangely enough, built, in part, to ferret out different types of hard drive incompatibilities.

because you didnt upgrade a memory size, you bought a new hard drive...and since the cios is what connects your wii, softwarily[sic] speaking, to your hard drive, its really sort of an important thing to share with the group.

good luck for next week.

Well I tried it and no dice! Monster Hunter and Blacks Ops will still no load. Like it said it's no problem I'm going to just keep using the smaller wbfs drive. I just wanted to put all my purchase games on a harddrive. With over 100 bought they all won't fit on a 250 harddrive. Thanks again!

Just a hunch, but perhaps you're new bigger drive is USB 2.0, while the older smaller one was USB 1.0? If so, then you probably have some older IOS' that don't have USB 2.0 capability. These include, I believe, 222, 223, 224. These will need to be updated, along with others perhaps. Someone here is likely a bit more familiar with USB 2.0 IOS capabilities/needs than I am.

Oh, I see that you mentioned in your original post that the new drive is USB 3.0, versus 2.0 with your older smaller drive. Just as with 1>2 incompatibilities, perhaps 2>3 is similarly at play?

It has 3.0 but is still 2.0! Still that could explain why most games will load. Leaving others that need another iso like Hunter and Blacks. To not load, and instead freeze up at the CFG loader screen.

Hey masters.

Are there any plans to include loading games containing the new protection which seems to have appeared recently?
Currently with Cfg USB Loader, it doesn't load regardless of the cIOS used (Hermes, Wanin or d2x), but it seems it is possible to load it with Mighty Loader created by marc (same guy who started Mighty Channels).

As this loader seems to have some limitations (WBFS only, for instance) and most probably will not be updated in the future (according to some comments in the site), would it make sense to somehow debug it (or check its included source) and consider including this functionality also in the great Cfg USB Loader?

Thanks in advance.

hi i have cfg65 installed but get long loading times. it says somting like: game is being starting just a moment. After that i have to wait about one minuut before the game really loads. What is the reason of waiting is it calculating something. With the old cfg i did not have these problem. Any solution for this

thanks

There's a very significant change being made right now, so it might be a little bit longer yet. One that people have wanted for a VERY long time.

Ooh, Banner animations, nice.
People have been asking for this change for longer than they've been asking for that, lol.
that's a shame, I'm one of those who think that cfg+banner animations would be perfect (i've recentrly tried wiiflow+fanart and it looks great)
but it's just a detail, cfg is really wonderfull - never crashed to me, always fast and functional
great work!
