I bought this card only a year ago, never had issues until recently. Will switching from Gen Prome to M33 Prome give a speed boost (and keep compatibility)? Do I need a better card? This one only gets 4-5MB/s speeds

Some of the problem games:
Dream Club Portable (slooooooooooow loading)
Senjou no Valkyria 3 (slow loading, overall sluggishness)
Metal Slug Anthology (choppiness in some games)

I had similar problems and fixed them after formating the MS in the PSP. Also, if it's still formated as a MMS that might be the problem.

And one more thing you should check is if the games are compressed, some CSO compression levels are way too high and increase loading times and choppiness in some games, try uncompromising them to ISO format.

Switching CFW and enabling the MS speed up will give a boost in speed, but that might not be enough to fix the problematic games.

yep... happened to me on monster hunter 3 and god of war ghost of sparta. The loading time gets tripled and sometimes it's stuck there forever... you should really buy a 512MB or a 1GB Memstick if you want to use it for magic memstick.

Wow I'm such a tool. For years now I've used only magic formatted sticks... I just reformatted the stick through the PSP and all the problems are gone. Not just games but even the XMB is quicker

Thanks for the help!
