I swear Sony just thought:
"Alright, this guy is just a college kid. We're a big multi-billion dollar company, lets sue him. He'll fold, and we'll win."
But I don't think they realized, that Hotz went up against Apple and won. I don't think they realize, that they're not dealing with an amateur kid. He obviously went out, got a great lawyer who's just picking apart Sony's claims.
Though I'm surprised that this wasn't brought forward in the first place. Hotz himself already said that the big thing in this case was apparently he used Sony's servers to do the hack, which he claimed he did not. And to have this fake account pop up on PSN, is just ridiculous. Makes you wonder though. Why Geo1Hot or whatever the name is? Could it be because geohot's name is already taken? Hmm.
Also, if Sony loses this, and I will be surprised if they don't, and they ban his account/console and all that, geohot can just sue them as he had broken no rules. Funny how life works out huh? You make one mistake in a court case, and the defendants lawyer can just tear you apart.
Not to mention that the whole thing about the case should be held in California, because of PayPal being based there, and geohot "ASKING" for money is ridiculous. He didn't ask for money at all. He put it up there and said IF you want to donate, have at it.
The "law" was broken in New Jersey, and judge's and them people are stupid for not taking it there. But if this lawyer of geohot is as good as he's sounding, there will be no need for a court hearing in the first place.
