I put "release" in quotes because this is the list of games to be released not necessarily exactly with the 3DS, but before June 7 (sauce).

Pilotwings Resort
nintendogs + cats
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D
Madden NFL Football
The Sims 3
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Ridge Racer 3D
Dual Pen Sports
Super Monkey Ball 3D
Thor: God of Thunder
CRUSH 3D
BUST-A-MOVE UNIVERSE
Samurai Warriors Chronicles
Dead or Alive Dimensions
Asphalt 3D
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D
Rayman 3D
Rabbids Travel in Time

You can see there's a lot of stuff not on that list. No OoT, no Paper Mario, no Animal Crossing, no Kid Icarus, no Star Fox, no Professor Layton.

Again, this isn't a list of games to be released with the system -- that one will be a lot smaller. This is within four months of launch.

Guess I'll be holding off. Some stuff looks good, but nothing to plunk down 250 bucks for a new system for.

The GAME.co.uk website is listing the following as the UK launch titles, just FYI.

- 3 versions of Nintendogs. No surprises there.

- Street Fighter IV. Again, no shock.

- FIFA

- Madden

- Ridge Racer (told you so)

- Samurai Warriors

- DOA Dimensions (sweet, 3D jiggle physics ftw)

- Resident Evil 3D. Whether this is 'Revelations', 'Mercenaries' or if there's any justice both on the same cart with 'Mercenaries' back as a bonus game where it damn well belongs, exact details are unclear at this time.

So there you have it. What SHOULD be available for us UK gamers on the 25th. OK, it's not great. The distinct lack of Kid Icarus (why did I keep spelling it 'Ikarus'?), Zelda, Mario Kart and Star Fox makes me a sad panda, but it's pretty decent coverage I guess. And no major shovelware. Some of them are B listers at best, but the majority should sell well enough.

The site also has a table of discounts available when you trade in various consoles towards the 3DS, so if anyone's worried about the price that'd be a good place to investigate. If you trade in a DSi Xl, presumably boxed in mint condition, you get the 3DS for £124.99, apparantly. Whether the offer will still be around on launch day remains to be seen, but I just thought I'd mention it.

I can appreciate that games take some time, but if like me you're gonna be spending £230 on the new console and £40 a throw on games, wouldn't you want at least ONE triple A title available at launch? There are games there that will keep me amused for a while but they're no Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Final Fantasy, etc.

Thankfully Dissidia Duodecim also comes out in March, and given that I've spent the last 6 hours of my life doing next to nothing but play the demo, I think the full game should keep me entertained until Nintendo pulls its finger out of the rectum of casual gamers and actually releases the good stuff.

But DOA and Resi should keep me happy for a few weeks. At least until the next paycheck goes in and hopefully by then the situation doesn't look quite so grim.

Have you ever, ever, bought a system at launch? If you replied "yes" then you'd realize the launch lineup isn't weak. It may not contain the "announced" titles that you OH-SO-CRAVE but it's better than almost any other launch to this date. Did you buy a DS Phat at launch? If you did, then you probably played Mario 64 DS until your eyes bled, only diverting to play Feel the Magic, and wishing there were other games available. After all, the Metroid Prime: Hunters demo that was included was perhaps the best experience available at the time.

I...honestly wish that there was a new IP here.

Every single thing here is a sequel or remake.
Are your expectations set too high? Have you ever experienced a launch lineup before the 3DS?

New IPs are great, but far and few between, especially with Nintendo. You should know this by now. Make a list of all the new IPs for every system that were released upon launch, and I'll give you coookie for each one. Finding yourself at -15 cookies, you realize that everyone else shares your "wants."

At least it had Mario 64 ds on launch and the wii had zelda so it still falls below those 2

i do what i usually do
pirate and buy the fav games

obviously nintendo is trying to make u buy only 1 or 2 games, play it for long and then there will be no hiatus like there is with the ds and wii, having no good titles at all for months
people were like: lol how many games omg, i can't buy them all, then they are like: lol, this sucks, i'm only going to get blahblah3d
and nintendo is like: solved=)

Lego Star Wars III, Street Fighter, Shin Megami and Splinter Cell is now a 'weak' line up of games?

That's 4 major names of 4 completely different genres...

A lot of people dislike Lego adventure games. And if you want Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked you can buy it without the Overclocked bit for the Nintendo DS, you'll save some bucks and get the same thing with less voice acting.

Lego Jones - 308 votes, 7.9
Star Wars Complete - 653, 8.3
Harry Potter, 70, 8.4
Batman, 217, 8.1

Someone is enjoying them at least?

The list is good for it being near launch I guess.

The way I see it is that I'll be throwing down $250 eventually, so why not do it at launch?

I plan on just using it for the stuff already on it until Kid Icarus/Ocarina comes out.

Edit:

Also, to those crying about Mario Kart... Did you really expect it to be a launch title?

At E3 the game looked like they just started it. It was basically nothing besides the fact that we knew a Mario Kart game was in the works. Nintendo loses either way. Fanboys cry about games not being done, or if they released it they cry about how the game sucks because they don't care.

A few good games but not a good enough for $250 so I will wait for a year. Nintendo is getting advantage of your money. Look at those list.. a few games out of many lousy games. Annoying.

For those of you complaining that this is a bad lineup, compare it with the DS lineup.

In the first 30 days, america had:

Asphalt Urban GT (Gameloft)
Feel the Magic: XY/XX (Sega)
Madden NFL 2005 (Electronic Arts)
Mr. Driller: Drill Spirits (Namco)
Ping Pals (THQ)
Ridge Racer DS (Namco)
Spider-Man 2 (Activision)
Sprung (Ubisoft)
Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt (Nintendo)
Super Mario 64 DS (Nintendo)
The Urbz: Sims in the City (Electronic Arts)
Tiger Woods PGA Tour (Electronic Arts)

Personally, I'm pretty happy with the launch titles. Especially SSFIV. That should keep me busy for quite some time

You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.
