First I soft modded my Wii using the softmod guide that's stickied at the top, but now I'm thinking of softmodding it again using Modmii, simply because it's that much easier to use and know what I've done and need to do. Is it worth it to soft-mod my Wii again using ModMii? Or should I just leave it as is and try my best to continue from where I left off last time using the softmod guide?

I was all about the guides until I tried modmii finally. It just makes life easier. Go for it, you won't regret it.

why? is there a problem?
I softmodded it correctly, but I'm at the loaders step now, and I might've done something wrong along the way. I just don't want to have to worry about things suddenly breaking because when I did the soft mod, I didn't do it correctly, though the chance of that should be low. I can only think of two or three steps I might have done incorrectly but still resulted in a successful soft mod.

well, its its simplest form, "the loaders step" only involves downloading your loader of choice to your sd card (or hard drive) and running it from the homebrew channel - if you managed to install a cios, then you should be good to go.

any guide, wizard, or what have you, is doing you a disservice if you arent aware or taking note of what the tools are doing to your wii - your posts are far too general to determine what, if anything, youve done or not done, but as plasma dragon stated, restarting the process with modmii, and paying attention to what its telling you/altering on your wii, is advised. that app, much like its author, is fairly verbose, but if you take the time to read what its telling you, there wont be much gray area left after its completed.

If you just hacked your wii last week using the guide then there is no reason to go through the modmii wizard. You should already be up to speed with the latest and greatest.

But, if you really want to rehack it for any reason then wait for the next update of modmii. It will have a few extra things that will help you get to where you want to even easier than it already is with modmii now.

you are a proud papa - you speak, at length, to support the people who are using your program, and besides the occasional rolley-eyed self-deprecation (i'm just a batch filer), i think overall effect is a positive one.

i do question your mancrush on deadlyfoez though...but at the end of the day, thats neither here nor there.

lol, I'd hardly call it a mancrush. We're good friends, the relationship is strictly plutonic... hell we're both married (or soon to be)! But its awesome to meet a random person online and become true friends... I can safely say that I could spend the rest of my life chatting with ppl online and I will never make another friend like Foez (hell, its very rare for me to even give out my real first name let alone my contact info!). Seriously, I like the fact that the wii community knows Foez and I are pals, when he was banned, everyone knew that if they wanted to get a msg to Foez, all they had to do was ask me (even the mods PM'd me once or twice to get in touch with Foez).

Anyways, sorry to have gotten so far offtopic, but I appreciate everyone's positive ModMii feedback in this thread so far!

Thanks guys for the info. I'll check out the soft mod guide again to see where I left off and then decide the next step. I remember I installed a custom channel and installed Prii Loader and some other stuff in it, including a couple cIOS I believe. Can't double check the Wii at the moment because my dad borrowed it...

Hi guys, I have a pretty old wii that was hardmodded with the wiikey chip and it is currently on firmware 2.2. Just wondering how I can make my wii so that it can play new games while still keeping the mod so that I can still play my old (burned) games? should i soft mod through modmii?
