Hi all, i have a Wii that i bricked about 2 years ago and its just been laying around, i'm wondering if its fixable. I've read and searched and not alot matches up to my brick or i'm just not sure. It has a chip installed with yaosm and It bricked when i foolishly updated from a disk with a different region. I can't remember what disk it was or what region if that matters. If i remember right it had 3.2 or 3.4 installed at the time. It now displays the system files corrupt message upon boot and the message is all pixelated or broken up and hard to read. The wiimote will power the wii up and down but nothing else. Put a disc in and the blue light flashes once and nothing else. I never installed bootmi or priiloader or anything like that. Will savemiifrii work on this or what are my options? Any help is appreciated

Its not quite legal to distribute so if you google autoboot wad manager iso by Tichinde925 I think it can fix your problem. (only for modchipped wii of course)

I just tried the autoboot iso and it does nothing. Doesn't even sound like the drive is spinning at all. Kinda weird but the only thing my system does is when I press the a button on the wiimote it adds some of the white back to the pixelated system files corrupt message, making it slightly easier to read. I don't have a gamecube controller or I would try savemiifrii. Do you think that is worth a try? If so, I will get one ordered, otherwise any other suggestions?
use recovery mode with any wii disk that's got the system menu in the data partition....just make sure the SM version is higher than the one you've got installed now....which shouldn't be hard since it was bricked 2 years ago lol

From the looks of it, your Wii seems to be screwed since you probably don't have a NAND backup of any sorts. You could try to get in contact with DeadlyFoez, but I don't think anything can be done in this situation...
You can try the method to boot into Recovery Mode and launch any game with an update partition above yours, which is really any title released in the past year.

yes, before you do anything to try to fix it, make a nand backup. theres a big chance youll make it worse trying to fix it, and with a nand backup, at least youll be able to get back to the point you are at already.

Bad advice in this thread, hang on to it mate. As has been said, you CAN save this with an infectus. You need to write bootmii to the boot2 sectors, then it will boot into bootmii where you can dump your keys then convert somebody elses dump with your keys in betwiin and write that "new" backup to your wii using bootmii the second time as its quicker than the infectus.

Im thinking savemiifrii via gamecube controller should be your first (and cheapest) avenue to explore. If you have a system menu version displayed then theoretically you should be able to update via a disc as long as the update is a higher version than your current one.

This wii can be EASILY fixed. Infectus is not required. You just need to do a savemiifrii and get into recovery mode and burn a disc of a newer game with an update partition on it or by using one of those autoboot wad manager type discs. Mauifrog would be the man to ask which disc would work best for you.
It REALLY would be best that you get a nand backup before doing anything else, but that is only possible at this moment using an infectus since you don't have bootmii in boot2.
If all else fails and the recovery mode does not work then you can compare your serial number to the ones listed in this thread to see if your wii has a vulnerable boot1 so bootmii can manually be installed to boot2. If your wii can in fact have bootmii installed to boot2 then you definitely have a chance of this wii working again.

Thanks for the advice guys and thanks for the clarification DeadlyFoez. This system is from launch so it can have bootmii installed to boot 2. I will start by ordering an original gc controller and trying savemiifrii. I'll let you all know how it goes. I have another wii from launch still kicking strong with hard and soft mod, only that one was done correctly after I failed miserably on this one. I'm just tired of this thing sitting around so hopefully the savemiifrii will do the trick.
