I have a 4.3e Wii (with HBC).
I got the Wii on xmas so I'm reaally new and I have already softmodded my Wii.
I was wondering if you could play Wii games on your Wii.
It doesn't matter if it's from a CD or USB but preferrably a CD.
So could someone explain the steps in GETTING* and playing games on your Wii?
I'm not entirely sure, but do the steps go like this?

1. GET* a Wii ISO file
2. Burn it onto a disc using ImgBurn
3. Install some kind of hombrew Wii game loader onto the HBC
4. Put your disc in and play.

If that's wrong could you please point out how you do it and if you recommend a USB or CD.

Thanks

1. GET* a Wii ISO file
you can achieve this by using any USB Loader and just plug your HDD (turn it ON) and then start the loader, as soon as you insert a disc in the Wii slot, press +, and the menu to back it up will appear, select the desired option and voila.....!!

there is also other options like using DVD Dumper from waninkoko, or buying an expensive DVD drive for your PC

2. Burn it onto a disc using ImgBurn
this one is pretty obvious, but you still need to search and lurk for a couple of details such as book type, recomended media, media ID's, recomended speed

3. Install some kind of hombrew Wii game loader onto the HBC
Neo Gamma is the best loader as of now for disc, and for USB loading any of the 3 major will do (USBGX, CFG Loader, Wiiflow)

4. Put your disc in and play.
Well as soon as you start the app (NeoGamma or the USBLoader) you'll know what to do, believe me

If that's wrong could you please point out how you do it and if you recommend a USB or CD.
really really really really really recomended to buy an HDD for this matter, as at long term it will be cheaper and easier to fiddle with new games with anti-piracy stuff, just check out in the GBAtemp wiki for the list of working HDD's

Given that you want to do it legally...

Also considering it's a new wii, it won't read backup dvds (dvd-+r, etc...).... so usb storage and loading is your only option. buy a game then add it to the hard drive.

Thanks for the help!
So, Since my version is 4.3E I CAN or CAN'T play games from a CD? o-o

it doesn't have to do with the software, it's the hardware, the newer disk drives don't allow for playing backups

you can play normal games, just not backup games that you burned yourself

Okay. That's sad. I'm guessing mine's one of the new ones because it's a red one. (The 25th Super Mario Anniversary)
So, I'll have to use a USB and USB Loader?

Also, getting into this anti-piracy stuff for Wii games, I found something pretty important called cIOS's.
Could someone please explain what they are and how to use them?
Thanks.

Go search for ModMii, as I think you need a guide.
