Doh... ten minutes later and more problems! Tried installing 222 / 223 over 249 but the installer is not connecting online to download files, instead it appears to be looking for a location on the SD card, fails and boots back to HBC???

If it looks for a location on the SD card, you're doing the offline installation. You have to download IOSes 37 v3612 and 38 v3610 in order to let the program install cIOS222v4 using the "38 merged with 37" option.

I advice you to use NUS Downloader (you can get it here), from which you can download the needed files. Select Database > Update Database to first have the last database for IOSes, then go to Database > IOS > IOS37 > v3612, and click on "Start NUS Download!" to start the download. It will create a folder called 0000000100000025v3612 in the program's folder. Then repeat the steps for IOS38 v3610, and the programm will create a folder called 0000000100000026v3610.

Now you have to create the folders in the SD card from which the 222-installer will take the files. Use the path suggested at this page to create the right folders (be care to follow the instructions for v4).

Now that you have the right path with the folders within, and the right files in them, you can install 222 using the offline installation.

I downloaded the latest stable version, 61, and when it installed I lost all my covers..

Above all that, when I tried updating the covers I got CODE screen error thing..

Any help as to why this is happening?

Can you start v60 select device: SD go to partition selection and make a screenshot
then start v61 and do the same and post both screenshots.

You can also try v61-compat and check if it makes a difference or not..

Also, next time you get a code dump, make a screenshot and post it, and tell exactly which version you have used when the code dump happened.

The first post supports HTML? Anyway... if you want to get the anchor links correct, put the text before the . I'm just saying..
The posts generally don't support html, but moderators can use it.
The formatting is fine, however when I edit the first post the html tags are disabled and it needs to be re-enabled by a mod.
I usually ask tj_cool to do that magic, but sometimes i forget...

I'm using the last forwarder release (v6). It takes very long to start after I moved the usbloader dir to my NTFS drive. Adding a load command for ntfs://usbloader/config.txt to meta.xml makes it start as fast as usual from HBC but the forwarder is pretty slow... is that new forwarder intended to fix that "issue"?
@all people with this problem:
USBLoaderCFG - UCXF - IOS58 Test2.wad
Please try it out and say if it works now.

This might seem like a bit of a stupid question... but could anyone please post an image of the forwarder that is at the beginning of this post, on the wii's main menu & also when running, before you click "start".

On the off chance does it look like this (this was from dogeggs guide)

or this

this was from modmii

Me too i have the second one. How did you manage to switch back to the first one (blue icon)

Thanks

You need the full package, extract it to your usb device or sd card. If you want to start the loader from system menu, download the forwarder from the main page and install it with a wad manager.

ok 2 things and 1 might be just because of my external hard drive
i have a western digitial 1TB partitioned and when i initially boot it from a turned off wii and unplugged it takes forever to run, also i wonder if it goes to sleep while running so game compatibility is terrible,

another thing and it has taken me awhile but i finally listen to dr clipper about changing cfg.txt and when i want a game to go back to the usb menu instead of wii menu it doesnt and i changed it to what i should have
CODEreturn_to_channel=
and it goes back to wii system menu any idea how to fix this also on 62a, love the continued support by the way and thanks for helping us simple people who are stupid

@ Skulls: It's generally frowned upon to double/triple post, especially without apologizing.

Could someone give me an example of a 62a META.XML with all the intros and a picture of them? And when I do an online update, do I ALWAYS have to press 1 to download without updating the META.XML? Doing that would overwrite the arguments, wouldn't it?

Hello. I enjoy Configurable USB Loader however I am surprised there is no option to use ALT-DOLS from USB instead of SD card. I run everything off USB so I would like path added to usb alt-dols please.

Options should have:
SD:\alt-dols\
NTFS1:\alt-dols\ (ntfs or whatever partition you are using).

Thank you for your great work.

Yes, spin down might be the issue with the drive. See if you can look for tools to disable the sleep mode on your drive or try using IOS222.

Also, you didn't listen well enough. I said to replace with the ID code. Thus you want return_to_channel=UCXF.

The correct implementation of meta.xml will have a section that reads:

intro=2

between the tags. Just use the Configurator to read and write the meta.xml and it will add or edit this section for you. Since quite a few versions ago, the online update only affects the date and version number. Everything else in the file is left untouched, so updating it is safe.

The alt dols must be within Cfg's base directory. This might be on the SD or on the hard drive. The value of the option is just named SD for backwards compatibility. Thus, just put your base directory on the hard drive (i.e., have config.txt in ntfs:/usb-loader/ and not on other devices) and you'll be good. It should also be noted that external .dols are very rarely needed and the disc+ method is much highly preferred.

It's like this:

QUOTE

...

intro=X

Replace X with a number:

intro=0 : black - only allowed when direct game launching

Only black screen

intro=1 : black bg with program name (small)

intro1.png

intro=2 : color image

intro2h.png

intro=3 : grey image

intro3u.png

intro=4 : stripes themed (by abdias) [default]
