Weird, have you tried with composite cables? Maybe the games have problems with component.

Also try by changing your language maybe that help.

I will try with the standard Wii Tv hookup which comes with the Wii, maybe that does the trick.

Changing the language to JPN in ARC or where else?(not sure if it will work on 4.3 anyways)

I am on official 4.3JPN now, I guess the language is set to JPN bc all is in japanese letters(sysmenu and channels and so on...)

Thx for your input OriginalHamster.

I am not sure if you have tried this yet, but...

It could maybe be a video mode conflict...

Was your Wii originally PAL?

When region-changing to JPN, did you change the Wii's video mode from PAL to NTSC with AnyRegion Changer?
If it is still set to PAL, then that is your problem.

If you do not want to change your Wii's video mode, try to use Gecko 1.9.3.1 to load the channel, forcing both Japanese language, and NTSC video mode.

That SHOULD fix it.

But if not, maybe force those 2 along with the VIDTV patch?

My wii has been PAL but as I stated before I always had the video mode set to NTSC with ARC, so I guess thats out of the question and other JPN shop games work without problems...

I will give Gecko a try, will let you guys know if it worked

There should be a "Launch Channel" option in gecko 1.9.3.1's main menu.

After forcing the settings, select this option, then select the channel to launch.

Nah, i downloaded it from the wiibrew site and it only has the launch game option...

damn, would be a blast if someone could push me in the right direction for the 1.9.3.1 version... downloadwise

From WiiRD , Gecko 1.9.3.1 http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,3228.0.html

Also, you only need patch IOS36 if you don't have 249, I can launch channels from Gecko with 249 just fine.

EDIT: Just an idea, but you could try change video mode by...
- Start a VC game (one that works)
- When the screen screws up, hit the home button
- Access the operation guide
- Plug in a Nunchuck and hit A+Z+1
- If done correctly, your Wii will switched to interlace mode (a chime will sound if you do it right)

To change again it hit A+Z+2

Got my hands on the NTSCU release of Commando, same result, black screen and Wiimote locks out on start of the game xD

I guess my Wii doesnt like Capcoms Arcade games... but I do.

BTW, bought Black Tiger AKA Black Dragon but as expected it doesnt work too...

@FGOD: Nah never tried and I dont know if that would change anything, how would I approach on that one? Comex´s Nand formatter and pinkfish disc for new number?

Thx

a normal format doesn't touch ios files, but deletes all info on messege board, mii characters, saves, channels,... and automaticly gives a new wii number... so you don't need pinkfish disc for that... and the shop channel should be the same, as it's registered to the wii serial...

btw, the menu formatter also doesn't update sm, so make sure you are on a sm which you can hack to install hbc again... but make a nand backup in case it goes wrong(never happened to me though)

nevermind, you have your IOS56 up to date, really strange situation, I guess it's because your Wii is Japanese, everything else seems in order.
