Voted for Mr.Curlynose1! Can never go wrong with a White On black skin,

And I love it since I got my IRC bout the same, very dark and very cool. And that skin should load up so fast and easy.

Kyoji missed out on the fact (although maybe in his taste he did it on purpose) that serifs do not look good for computer material and shall only be used for printouts.
other than that i thought most entries lacked a certain style or were too colorful, too dark, too bright, too simple.
take a look at yaxay.com for example. that is good design, my friends.

I think Squiffy's skin would be kinda a downgreat of the current theme, which isn't a good thing in my opinion.

They are actually very effective in design if used right...and I'm well aware that mine arent exactly used right, but i couldnt find a good font..

That's because the clear winner is Opium, why do the votes not agree with that? I like his the best, perhaps it would be better though if he changed the banner around a bit, and simplified those fat lines and buttons, and a nicer font would go a long way too.

Perhaps I should have entered the contest, after all, I did take digital design at school.

Kyoji's and Squiffy's skins are alright, but they're definitely not better than what we have now. Besides that, none of the banners posted are very interesting, sorry fellas.

Oh, and before anyone starts yelling "why didn't you do it yourself, then"; I would have but school is keeping me so fucking busy I haven't even had the time to completely design a tattoo for my cousin even though he asked me about two months ago.

I agree with you on the first part, but yaxay.com isn't an example of good design - it's an example of trendwhoreism from back in 2002. These days, the "3D-lookalike-but-actually-very-2D"-looks are kind of outdated (especially with all of those unnecessary details & unless done right like @IGN.com). That, and they take way too long to load, especially on a forum.[/opinion]
