I'd be happier if this hack was made on the old Pokémon Red. Seeing as it's probably easier to hack on FireRed, it'll be acceptable, but it'd be awesome to be able to play it on a Lameboy or with a SCDS2, which I don't own...

If this ever gets enough publicity, bootlegs should be made, guys. I'm telling you, this'd be a VERY interesting play on a real GameBoy, and not an emulator.
NO!

Just get a flash cart. Why should Chinese bootleggers make money off of these guy's hard work?

better yet, only release it to Tempers only (or to lucky members of any other forums you guys are a part of) and let the myth re-emerge. wouldn't that be cool?

We'll probably release it publicly so as not to piss people, already excited for the game, off.

1. Make game.
2. Release patch to different sites.
3. Put game onto a few bootleg carts.
4. Secretly get them into peoples' possession.
5. ???
6. Profit!

It would be fucking awesome. LOL It would be like "...Hey, pokemon...... *Tries it out* ...Ghost? *Plays to the end* WHAT THE FUCK?!"

I find it odd that this game has become so popular all of a sudden, specially years after its "release".
The fact that this game exists is real, but it is no cartridge whatsoever and those who claim it being so are definitely fake.

How would i know? Very simple, the game does exist, and the only existence of this game i ever knew was a ROM. Yes it existed, and the story told was pretty much how the game played ( maybe a it over-exaggerated ). The game itself isn't as scary as told by the story you guys recently read, hence why it's popularity never reached any peaks anywhere.

I've played this game, way back in the years, i think even before the original was ever released on a cartridge. It was fun, in a weird way, but to sick for a major and propper release. I also don't think the person who did make this version even intended it to release and become much of a hype.

Where did i get it you'll likely ask? Well the internet is a big place, we all have or had our sources around. Mine pretty much died as did the site it was ever hosted on. ( the original site i got it from was basically a clan site from PerfectLegacy where we shared a number of odd findings in random threads as it was our clan forum, back then we had a link for this game to download from somewhere else, but i have not the slightest clue what site that could have been. Guess thats the downside of using clan forums to find crap. )

I'm not sure if the site i had been given then still exists even, but i know for a fact this game did exist. Sadly as with time i grew up and deleted pretty much all my roms i had, so i no longer have this one either. I'd gladly share it with any one otherwise tho.

But as i said, you all expect way to much of this, the actual game is not as scary as the story makes it sound, at all. Also notice that any coding that has been changed to make this was pretty much done in its early stages, nothing got ever finalized, so half of whats described is only there to boost the "creepyness" of this thing.

Honestly, in my fairest oppinion, isn't worth looking for, if you really want a version as the story goes, you will be better of "re"-making it and actually finishing it.

Also, the reason why your safe got wiped at the end of the game isn't because the game ends there or ends your life there, it's because the game was never coded beyond the part where you end up back home, so game "crashes" deleting all your data in the progress.

Srry to break up an legend like this, but this is really the (lame) truth to pokemon black =/

also those vids shown with pokemon black are fake cuz the actual black version never had any intro or anything. The game would boot up directly to the screen where you hit new game, without any animations other then the words pokemon on the screen with a black background as the game was never finished coding. So looks were pretty much the last thing they thought about. ( which is why its called pokemon black really, duo to its unfinished release )

The reason you might not find this rom anymore is the same reason as why the game is called pokemon black, it was never finished, so it was never seen as an actual game, or hack in any manner. So chances are the existence of this rom has died out over time. ( Have to admit, pokemon is old already, people do live on. )

i hope this clears this "legend" up a little, sorry to all the people who believed so hard in it, reality will only come as a disappointment compared to the story released.

I'm sorry for making a post like this but how close is this remake of an (apparently unfinished) hack to coming to exist? And with so many reports of this original hack existing doesn't it have to be out there somewhere? Hard part would be tracking someone down who has the rom still saved considering how long ago this is from..

BTW what's this about the original Lavender Town music? I Found it on youtube and it doesn't seem like it's a suicide causing thing..
Although on the subject of Lavender Town.. I'm guessing those stories about the creepy imagery with the hand and the grim reaper and corpses and stuff is fake isn't it? Kind of disappointing because honestly I would have liked to see that..

You laugh, but he's looking for the cartridge as we speak. Here are some quotes:

"I can give you details of the game up to like the 4th gym.
10:14 PM
Like, trainer changes and shit.
10:15 PM
Because what the guy also doesn't mention has to do with you killing your rival's Raticate.
10:16 PM
He tells you one day you will have to pay for what you've done to him and everyone else."

"Viridian forest is also different, but not extremely."

"Yeah, what made the rival thing so creepy is, like various other parts of the game, it played the rival music dropped way down and really freaked me the fuck out."

I'll definitely be getting back to you guys. He was telling me about this game before I read this story. It exists
