NeoGamma tells you what IOS it is using, and that's what matters. Hmm, if it was trying to boot it as gamecube game, then you could get some error about reading the "Offset Table". Could it be that you get "Open Partition..." and then the crash? I need to add a check if an inserted disc is a really a wii disc. There's a one in a million chance you burned the .gcm file as file and it doesn't trigger a regular error on open partition but an exception.

Did you burn wii games before with the same setup?

im very psyched that my backups of XIII and CellDamage are working now, thanks to your streaming audio fix=)

Do you need to set the audio fix to yes for those 2 games? It's the first time i get any report about them, so some details would be really nice.

From the compatiblity list about XIII:
QUOTETested with WiiGator's Backup Launcher 0.2 - Game Loads and will play if you press "start" at the Backup launcher load screen. The first mission will start but Wii restarts itself after the flashback scene.

So that flashback scene(and the rest of the game) works correctly now? What settings?

Or are you a modchip user?
Sorry for lack of details.
No modchip, just softmodded launch era Wii on 4.2u
Running Neogamma R9b45 then updated to b47
ios249(rev17)
latest MIOSv10
im using gc internal mode, with options all set to default/auto, except force video set to Wii

my results are so:
XIII works uncompressed as a single iso, but freezes at the language select on a multi-disk.
(it does say to expect missing audio, but i cant tell).
im only up to the second mission @ 20-30 minutes of gameplay.

CellDamage also works as an uncompressed single game iso, but on a multi-game disc it freezes @ 90% on its 'loading' screen.

another streaming audio problem game i would like to see if it plays is now is SmugglersRun, but i dont have a backup atm.

Err...

Well, on the bottom, Neogamma says IOS249 (rev 17)

Basically it says "launch game" then it loads for a minute, then flashes something on the bottom real fast before switching to a DSI. Could be Open Partition, I dunno.
frown.gif
Too slow of reflexes. I should record it with my dazzle and go through it frame for frame.
I'm going to hold off on the nand edits while I'm drunk but I have no idea what I did. Would it help if I gave all the codes that occorred during the exception/etc.?
I'm completely inexperienced with burning disks. What I did was took at blank DVD-R, made a burn folder on my mac, threw the gcm in there, and burned it. That's all...
frown.gif
I dunno. I haven't burned any other games whatsoever, I use my HDD for that stuff.

EDIT: Okay, get this-it works just fine with my normal PAL brawl disk. I think it's the disk... what did I do wrong?

If your XIII multi game disc uses a shrunk image file, that's the problem. Does NeoGamma tell you something about audio streams for it?

If a game sometimes works, sometimes not, it's most likely a bad burn or dying drive. It could also be a problem because of shrinking again.

Short: Do not shrink games that really use audio streaming.

PS: The fix that made XIII work was most likely one of the first reloader updates that made it not disable itself. The disabling was a good thing because the reloader slowed down the reading a lot, but with my speed improvements we can have both now, speed and reloading.

It's not the same issue as yours. Well except you have a shrunken .iso. But then again NeoGamma should warn you about the bad alignment, because NeoGamma checks the alignment of .adp files and Eternal Darkness uses .adp files.

Could a cIOS or cMIOS issue. You should consider reinstalling both. Well use a cIOS that is known to work with gamecube games this time, like rev19 or 20. And be sure to set NeoGamma to GC mode internal.

Hmm, so you do get into NeoGamma's GC loader? If you get that and the last thing you see for a while is "Launching game..." ("Starting Game..." would be really bad, as that's when loading wii games...), then you should try WiiGator's loader. It could be a bad .iso or a bad burn, but it sounds like NeoGamma is doing something wrong and WiiGator's loader is supposed to play the game. So after reinstalling the cIOS and cMIOS, please try again once, and then try WiiGator's loader.

How do you get both discs of Baten Kaitos Eternal Wings to fit on the same multi game disc? To quote the compatability list
QUOTE said:
Works using fstfix with all patches (t s g : align 32k, streamfix AND 3Gigasize iso). Works with both discs on the same multi game disc if the 1st disc is patched with "t s g" and the 2nd with "t s f". If not patched the game randomly freezes with a screeching noise. Works fine on Neogamma r9b41 mulitiiso unshrunk
I use fstfix on both discs prior to adding them to the one MultiGame ISO but Disc one becomes 3.22 GB and Disc 2 becomes 5.76 GB = 8.98 GB (DVD5 is only 4.7 GB)
I can't even burn Disc 2 on it's own onto a DVD because it is too big. I could tick Shrink in MultiGame ISO Creator, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of fstfix, or is that exactly what I should do?

I haven't tried it myself, but it should work. Did you have problems with that in the past? If yes, which exactly? And don't say memory card if you mean sd card, especially in the context of gamecube loading, that's really confusing.

The 2nd disc is supposed to get about 1.3-1.4 GB by this. You can try with your 3 GB.iso for the 1st game and a 1:1 copy for the 2nd game. Keep in mind to put the games in correct order on the disc. That's important because i think this fix only works because it gets the game to load faster. Alternatively, you could even try to put some other full size game before them and then the 2 discs as 1:1 images.

Do you get the screen with NeoGamma's GC loader? If not, set NeoGamma to GC mode internal and try again.

The game is listed as not working in the compatiblity list, but maybe one of NeoGamma's settings gets the game to work, try the following(leaving everything else on auto):
High plugin
patched MIOS
patched MIOS + High plugin
Audio fix yes
reloader .elf fix
reloader forced

If you have an usb gecko, then the debug log would help me more than these results.

I think he means to ask, can you save the save files to the sd card instead of a memory card. If that is what he means, then it is not possible.

I have a problem. I burned a multi game disc with 4 games. I played Eternal Darkness. It worked fine. Today, I tried using the same disc, and any time it gets to loading the second game, it errors.

While I'm in NeoGamma, it fails to load the second title on the multigame disc, and it errors.

R9 beta 11 - > R9 beta 12

- Added .wip files for Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands(not confirmed to work yet)
- Gamecube loading(internal GC mode): Switching to game video mode just before booting the game, fixes some video mode issues during the loading screen
- When using a .wip patch, it says "patch forced!" now if the old data from the .wip file did not match the data in memory

this is stated in this version in the change log and it has not worked for me (pop) is it confirmed at not working?

Prince of persia works fine, make sure you also copy the neogamma folder on your sd card.

R9 beta 4 - > R9 beta 5

- Added code that allows to identify where a dvd read error occured

R9 beta 3 - > R9 beta 4

- Gamecube loading(internal GC mode): Partly fixed video mode code, forcing PAL60 works at least for some NTSC games now(but not PAL games!)

R9 beta 2 - > R9 beta 3

- Fixed alt .dol disc+ bug causing some .dols to be unloadable
- Added .wdm file for Rampage: Total Destrucion(by woodoste)
- Gamecube loading(internal GC mode): Hopefully fixed code dump when playing certain backups that are not multi game discs(bug found by Levente)

R9 beta 1 - > R9 beta 2

- Gamecube loading(internal GC mode): Added support for retail discs
- Gamecube loading(internal GC mode): Changed video mode code, only confirmed working video mode is NTSC480i, PAL480i is confirmed to NOT work at the moment, PAL576i seems to work, progressive unknown
- Gamecube loading: Clearing bss before loading .dol sections for homebrew .dols(only relevant when building a cMIOS)

R8 - > R9 beta 1

- Gamecube multi game disc selection moved to wii mode(compatible cMIOS + GC mode 'internal' only) see gamecube.txt for details
- Fixed controls(support 2nd, 3rd and 4th controller, shutdown always possible when waiting for button press)

<b>Gamecube backups on discs mini FAQ:</b>
<b>Requirements for gamecube backup launching from disc with NeoGamma:
</b>- A Wii with a backup compatible drive(black Wiis are generally not backup compatible, backup resistant Wiis were sold since christmas '09, no backup disc compatible Wiis in the shelves anymore 1-2 months later). Easy test: In the <b>latest NeoGamma</b>, remove disc from the drive and select launch game from disc. You will get a read error. If it doesn't say anything about your drive, then it should be old enough.

- A GC backup compatible cIOS installed and used. For testing until it works, install cIOS37rev19 or cIOS56rev20. NeoGamma shows at the bottom of the screen which cIOS is used. If does not say: cIOS37rev19 or cIOS56rev20 (slot 249), you did not install the cIOS correctly.

- A GC homebrew compatible cMIOS. If you don't know which one you have, just install a good one. cMIOS and MIOS always overwrite any MIOS or cMIOS you currently have installed. Waninkoko's cMIOS up to rev5(including) are not GC homebrew compatible. All of WiiGator's cMIOS should be compatible. And there's only compatible or not compatible, there are no differences in games compatibility or anything else between different cMIOS. Recommend cMIOS: The one from this thread, because: It's NeoGamma compatible and still allows to play retail GC discs from disc channel without issues.

- The correct options in NeoGamma:
Storage device: SD or USB using cIOS(the others should work too, but most people try everything, so...)
Gamecube Mode: internal (MIOS just boots MIOS like the disc channel does, external boots sd:/NeoGamma/GC.dol in GC mode)
Force Video: Disc(with component cables, you might need to try all options)
Patch Video: No(only relevant on import games with color issues)
Reloader, Backup plugin, Audio fix and Patched MIOS: Auto
All other options are not GC backup launching relevant. Yes this includes the GC Ocarina and debugger options. But if you want to be safe, set everything in that menu to no.

- A valid game image written on the disc. Well the best way to find out if this is the reason why GC backup launching is not working at all is to create a clean new dump from a retail disc with SuperDump. Multi game discs are valid discs, but i can only say that the multi game discs created with the tool linked in this thread work for sure

- And last but not least: A good disc. Only use high quality media and never burn slower than 4x. If you believe you need to burn slow, then use 4x, all others try 8x,12x or 16x. <b>And DVD+Rs need the booktype set to DVD-R(dvd-rom) on burning, or the Wii won't be able to read them.</b> This procedure is called bitsetting, just google it.

<b>Recommend cMIOS</b> for homebrew, and retail&backup discs, it's WiiGator's cMIOS just in a new installer(only required for GC mode internal or external):
New one(based on MIOSv10):
<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?4ayvwgqey66qc9v" target="_blank">http://www.mediafire.com/?4ayvwgqey66qc9v</a>

Old one(based on MIOSv4):
<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?mn2jzmqg0ny" target="_blank">http://www.mediafire.com/?mn2jzmqg0ny</a>

<b>Recommend cIOS:</b>
A cIOS with IOS56 as base IOS. It should work for all games(including MH3 and Rockband), and seems to be as fast as IOS57. More info(why base IOS56):
<a href="http://gbatemp.net/t243593-monster-hunter-tri-and-instrument-games" target="_blank">http://gbatemp.net/t243593-monster-hunter-...nstrument-games</a>
Other cIOS may work for GC games too, but official support will only be granted for cIOS37rev19 or cIOS56rev20+.

Alternative cMIOS for homebrew but for <b>retail discs only</b>(only required for GC mode internal or external):
<a href="http://gbatemp.net/t228430-i-have-my-own-cmios-now-yay" target="_blank">http://gbatemp.net/t228430-i-have-my-own-cmios-now-yay</a>

<b><u><!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->Useful tools:<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--></u></b>

Put several GC games on a single game disc:
<b>MultiGame ISO Creator v3.5.4F+
</b><a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?yzy3jm0jmmz" target="_blank">http://www.mediafire.com/?yzy3jm0jmmz</a>
<b>(Attention: Please use "fstfix t" on all shrunken .isos, after shrinking, before putting on multi game discs. This should fix all issues with games that "don't work shrunken". And it might also increase the reading speed for those games.)</b> The reason for this is that audio streams(.adp files) need 32KB alignment, but the shrinking kills it, "fstfix t" gets all files to 32KB alignment.

"Fix" GC .iso files
<b>Wiped GCM Fixer 1.5F also callled Fstfix 1.5F
</b><a href="http://filetrip.net/g1604-fstfix-exe.html" target="_blank">http://filetrip.net/g1604-fstfix-exe.html</a>
Baten Kaitos works if both discs are put on the same multi game disc with MultiGame ISO Creator v3.5.4F+, and the 1st disc is patched with the options:
FSTFIX BKdisc1.gcm t s g
and the 2nd with these:
FSTFIX BKdisc2.gcm t s f

Open GC .iso files and extract stuff(more or less WiiScrubber for GC games)
<b>GC-Tool
</b><a href="http://filetrip.net/f818-GC-Tool-1-20-beta.html" target="_blank">http://filetrip.net/f818-GC-Tool-1-20-beta.html</a>

<b><u><!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->Important:<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--></u></b>

All "new" GC stuff is only revevant if a <b>compatible cMIOS</b> is used and NeoGamma is set to <b>internal GC mode</b>.
Note that Waninkoko's cMIOS up to rev5(including) are not compatible with GC mode internal and external.

For more details about the different GC modes see gamecube.txt
The NeoGamma gamecube modes allow to change NeoGamma's behaviour when booting gamecube discs.

All these settings are only relevant if there's a GC disc in the drive and it is "launched"

Recommend MIOS(WiiGator's cMIOS):
<a href="http://www.mediafire.com/?mn2jzmqg0ny" target="_blank">http://www.mediafire.com/?mn2jzmqg0ny</a>

Once Waninkoko released rev6 of his cMIOS, NeoGamma will be able to use both GC loaders(its own

and Waninkokos') without the need to install a new cMIOS. (it will obviously require to have

Waninkoko's cMIOS rev6 installed) With GC mode MIOS it will load with Waninkoko's loader, with

internal GC mode it will use its own loader. This way it will be possible to switch quickly

between both to get the best from both.

The modes:

MIOS:
Just boot the MIOS, boots the GC disc the same way as Gecko OS and the old Gamma do

external*:
Makes the MIOS boot the _homebrew_ GC .dol located in the NeoGamma folder on sd

card(sd:/NeoGamma/GC.dol). This is can be used for example to use WiiGator's 0.2 GC backup

launcher instead of the modified version NeoGamma uses

internal*:
Launches the included GC backup launcher, which is a modification of WiiGator's 0.2 GC backup

launcher. Currently this doesn't support booting with a patch MIOS, but has some improvements

regaring the reloader. For multi game discs, the selection which game to boot is moved to wii

mode. Select 2nd disc with 1/Z, if no 2nd disc is selected it is auto detected. To switch the

disc in-game, just eject and reinsert the disc.

*external and internal GC mode require a compatible cMIOS. WiiGator's cMIOS are compatible,

Waninkoko's cMIOS rev 6+ will most likely also be compatible

<b><u><!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->List of achieved improvements for GC loading:<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--></u></b>
(improvements over WiiGator's loader)

- Play retail GC discs
- Play retail "problem games" like Eternal Darkness, Starfox Adventures and Zelda Ocarina of Time
- Ocarina/Wiird on retail GC discs
- Select which game to boot from multi game discs in wii mode(NeoGamma itself)
- Autodetection for 2nd disc on multi game discs
- Increased speed for the reloader(setting: fast, forced is as slow as before but may have a better compatibility)
- The reloader always stays active now
- Optional alternative Audio Status Request handling(gets Ikaruga to work)
- Fixing .elf files that are loaded to a buffer first(fixes 007 Agent under Fire crash after the 2nd level)

<b><u><!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->Known and confirmed not working gamecube backups:<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--></u></b>

- Phantasy Star Online 1+2+3(black screen with normal plugin, "an error occured" with high plugin)
- 007 Everything or Nothing(more details required)

<b><u><!--sizeo:5--><span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->TODO/wish list:<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--></u></b>
(only GC related)

- Write to SRAM, this could be the solution for some video mode issues, and allow to force languages
- Proper Audio Status Request handling(the old handling breaks Ikaruga, the new breaks Eternal Darkness)
- Find a way to fake/force the language setting(SRAM?)
- Get progressive video mode to work on all games that support it(can't test myself => very low priority)
- .wip patches for gamecube games
- Alternative .dol loading(maybe won't be done, because the reloader seems to work nicely)
- Wiird for backup discs(for backups not possible, because the code that actually reads from DVD-R uses the memory that's required for Ocarina/Wiird)<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Hello.
I use the latest Neogamma, and I can not find the Force NTSC feature.
If someone can tell me how to force NTSC on the latest neogamma, that would be really helpful!
Thank You. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yaywii.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yaywii:" border="0" alt="yaywii.gif" />

Hi. Wanted to say a big thanks to wiipower for all work gone into neogamma.

I have installed everything correctly (hopefully) and can run almost everything but have one problem with Crazy Taxi NTSC. The game runs fine but for some reason it has no music. I checked the compatabilty list and it says it runs perfectly but has no bgm music with 01.xi. When I run neogamma it says at the bottom Neogamma R9 r47 ios249 rev19 so not sure if I have the correct cios installed. My system menu is 4.2u and is softmodded. I used NUS to get mios v4 and ran cmios wiigator through the homebrew channel to install that. Have I miss something?
