I decided I'd try work on a Kirby skin pack, and was wandering if anyone has any good background images that would look good?
I've tried google image search, but haven't found anything I really like.

I been a busy VatoMofo =)
I completed my full Tron theme a couple of days ago, and thought i should get my other two full themes sets up to par.
so i done did just that thar ;p

DontPanic theme
11530-InGamePreview.jpg

- totally remade GBA skin
- built matching SNES skin
- updated loader screen to 1.06
- added ds2skin pack

NeonGreen theme

11934-NDSGBA_preview.jpg

- built SNES skin
- updated loader screen to 1.06
- added ds2skin pack

i think the GBA and SNES tuned out friggy-digg on the DontPanic theme.

Thank you, Stormwave for the awesome ds2skin installer. I makes it really easy to switch up all the individual theme selections.

I just recently got myself a DSTWO and I have to say thanks for all the work that's gone into these skins!

I hated the default Pink and Silver so this thread and the people involved rule all! I am an experienced 'skinner' so I'll get my head around the DSTWO UI and contribute a couple of my own.

CannonFoddr, have you considered making an RSS feed for the ds2skin collection that you've created? Since the wiki is sorted alphabetically, it is getting difficult to see what's new?

In lieu of an RSS feed, would it be possible to add columns for Version and Date Modified?

Lastly, the entries for Default and Default Blue are inaccurate. They both have all 7 skins, including iReader, which you don't give either of them credit for.

@ Rascal: as for your suggestions...

> How do you do a RSS feed ?? - I haven't a clue, that's why I've never included one
wink.gif

> You could always add version number/modified date to the title (since that's the biggest box), but since I've included when skins are added to this thread & there's a link on the Wiki that points here I couldn't see the point.
Also since all (so far) are hosted on Filetrip - you can also see details of version number and date submitted on the download page

- adding extra columns isn't a problem, but the current Wiki page looks a little 'squashed' on a small screen (that's what I have to use in work) & by adding more columns will squash it even more. Not everyone has >15" monitors

& thanks for the mistake I made on 'Default' & 'Default Blue' ... I admit I never really checked those ones out - I've been concentrating on getting all the other skins converted/checked into ds2skin packs first. Fixed now

To all skinmakers who have submitted skins to this thread

Despite my good intentions of converting the skins in first post into ds2skin packs for the Wiki, some people have been altering the Wiki links to redirect to other places hosting their skin(s), even though those particular skins are not in 'ds2skin' format (it IS a ds2skin Wiki page after all
wink2.gif
)

Since this will cause confusion, with people downloading what they think are ds2skin packs when they are in fact not - I've taken the steps to remove those (for now at least) all links that I've found that point to those non-ds2skin packs (Sorry to all those who did the edits originally)

- So to avoid any more confusion -
I am (now) asking all skin makers to please contact me - especially if you DON'T have GBA Wiki access - informing me if they want their skin(s) hosted on 'Filetrip/ds2skin Wiki' or not (I have already PM'd a couple of people asking for confirmation on their skins)

Sorry once again for jumping the gun & assuming your skins were freely avaliable for inclusion into ds2skin packs

p.s. If you are a skin maker & do have Wiki Access - just remove the offending entry from the page without contacting me...
...I will guess then that you don't want them included in future & I'll delete them from Filetrip as well

@ nathancnc: Snes 'Circuit nebula' skin 0.2 - the buttons STILL don't quite match up, but it's better than the first version
Oh & you can use GIMP instead of Photoshop
Unfortunately - I've been a little bit busy (what with the Wiki & Shift Work) to carry on attempting to get the screens EXACTLY right

Well you could try & make it yourself - as I wouldn't know what else you'd like (eg Text white or purple, where the text should be, whether 'supercard' and 'DSTwo' should be on same line or not etc)

You only need the 'lower_screen.bmp' from 'BlinDedNebular' eos skin, the Nebular Font & GIMP (Put the text on different layers & make one slightly bigger & more transparent than the other), & you may need to copy/paste the bottom part of 'up_bk.bmp' to get that 'curve' along the bottom

Still any of these do you ??

If so - download them from here and follow the instructions to replace the one in the 'BlinDedNebular plugin skin'

so for those of use who don't want to use the ds2 skin installer can't use these skins??
because this program is pretty useless to me. drag and drop is faster and easier
and I don't have to clutter my computer and/or dstwo with another program/plugin

No!!! - you seem to of got it all wrong

The first post contains skins NOT in '.ds2skin packs' & are avaliable in individual sections like eos, plugin, loading etc (apart from the Multiskin packs that is
wink2.gif
)
- allowing you to download whatever skin you'd like to unzip & drag-&-drop onto the DSTwo card like any other flashcard theme/skin

The Wiki was set up for 'ds2skin packs only' for those of us who like a single 'pack' that's contains multiple skins that are of the same theme

The choice is yours....You can either......
  • > Download Zip/Rar file from this post
    > Unzip/Un-Rar file
    > Drag/Drop folder onto DSTwo
    > Repeat this for each skin you want to change (so you could be doing this up to 6 times)
    > Use a PC 'Loading Screen' changing program
    > Hack 'DSTwo.nds' with new 'Loading' screen
    > Copy new hacked dstwo.nds to DSTwo card
OR
  • > Download ds2skin pack(s) from Wiki
    > Unzip & copy ds2skin file(s) to DSTwo card folder
    > Use 'plugin' to change as many skins in the pack one go as well as change the Loading screen if required
If you, like some people, like changing flashcard skin regulary depending on your mood or whatever you will need to repeat those steps each time.

okay, I thought you was gonna change all the skins to ds2skin
thanks for clearing things up
smile.gif

I usually just pick one skin and stick to it
I don't like to keep changing my skin
so it's easier and better for me to just use ds2tool and put in the loading screen, gba, etc myself

Glad that cleared that up....

Nope - I wasn't going to change all of them to being just ds2skins (actually I can't - as mentioned in an earlier post - some skin makers won't allow it, which is a shame
cry.gif
)

What I was attempting to do is repeat all the skins from this thread onto the Wiki as ds2skin packs - to allow everyone a choice.
