Going to try a 1GB kingston SD card now!
Edit: Works perfectly with the 1GB kingston, gaining exp no black screens so far. I literally copied and pasted the files from the 8GB kingston to the 1GB kingston.

works fine for me with the patch on akaio 1.7.1 using 16gb microsd, didn't play long as i don't like pokemon, just thought id post for statistical purposes. only tried black. using ak2i and ds lite. exp was gained and i caught a pokemon.
I get a freeze when trying to enter the left room of the pokemon centre (the union room I thinkm at the very top), music still plays.

Description of problem: When booting into PKMN Black, it loads the "THE POKEMON COMPANY - NINTENDO ?"screen but then freezes on the screen where the intro credit screen:

Steps to reproduce: Boot Pocket Monster Black and wait.
Debugged: I have tried the regular, Green and Red DMA modes. All freezes. Incidentally, when booting into Red and Green DMA modes, one can't even see the first screen; it stays white. Only using the regular Yellow DMA modes does even the POKEMON COMPANY screen appears. I have tried a Sandisk 2GB and Kingston 4GB microSD card and has failed to work. I have formatted them both with Ubuntu's GParted, Windows' default formatter and Panasonic formatter. No positive results yield. Tried several copies of ROMs using both Ubuntu and Windows. No luck. As a last resort, tried booting Black with offical Acekard loader. No luck either. Tried (5215) Pocket Monsters White with same results. Used my friends "pre-Dec 09" AK2.1 and the problem does not occur.
Other:I personally think that this blackscreen issue could be because I'm using the 'faulty" HWID:80 Acekard 2.1. Even though AKAIO resolved the issue in 1.7, there could be lingering issues. For example, the only other game AKAIO "fixed" was 4 elements (id:?). Maybe, check compatabilty with faulty AK2.1? Reading others on internet forums, most of the Acekard users freeze up after meeting the Professor or have only occasional freezes and the no EXP issue. Just my 2 cents though.

Tried my 2GB SD which I used before my 8GB, game boot fine. Now to reformat my 8GB and hope for the best.

The fact that some Kingston SDHC users can run the game fine is confusing me.
Uh, people who can't run it: have you done the GParted trick to get your AK2i to soft reset properly? I know I have, and the game doesn't run past the introduction here.

Softreset works fine for me without doing any fancy formatting steps.
