So my wii is in a state of complete and utter disarray. My current situation is that I have system menu 4.3, bootmii installed as boot2, and cboot2 available. HBC is not installed, and I can only get into the system menu in maintenance mode. I can run all normal games through the disc channel, except for some reason, my SSB will not even spin. My hope is that somehow I can use what I have to remove 4.3 and downgrade, however I have been having very little luck in figuring that out. I have tried formatting which just locks up, and also got rid of my HBC. I removed priiloader before attempting to format so these are my only options. If someone could even provide a link that I have not yet seen that would be extremely helpful. THank you.

No Nand Backup? And correct me if I'm wrong but hackmii package comes with a file called bootmini.elf which you can run and install HBC from bootmii.

you are correct on that point, I guess my real question is more to do with the root of the problem, because even if/when I get HBC reinstalled I still don't know what to do to solve my real issues. And as far as my nand backup, I have one, but it doesn't go back to before my problems started. I would always save over my old one when I made a new one, and I made my most recent one and meant to not save over the old, but I did, blah blah blah, stupid stupid mistake I know. The closest I have come is thinking it's a mail brick of some sort, because I have deleted all installed channels and save data and updated the system menu even using the nintendo download update.

I can restore the nand I have and have HBC but most likely more of whatever the problems I have, so I will most likely reinstall through bootmii, but I would much rather find a way to just wipe the whole damn thing clean, cause I can't locate the problem at all..

Well, reinstall HBC using this method and download this app: http://www.mediafire.com/?9dnlffypfqdndnf

Load it and post here the report, and people may pinpoint where is the problem (maybe some missing IOSes or patched ones which needs to be replaced).

Since you can get to a system menu of some kind, I'd try ModMii for Windows (link is my sig), and just start from scratch. It should fix and patch anything you messed up. Including the HBC stuff and even BootMii. When downloading with the wizard I would choose Virgin so you are sure you get everything. It doesnt sound to me like you have a full on Brick situation, just sounds like you've got an attempted Mod gone crazy. ModMii does everything offline (so no working wifi needed), as long as you can get to a system menu, and still access an SD card, you should be able to recover from this. SSB not working may be a slight issue, but possibly one of the other exploits will work for you instead.....it will all be in the guide ModMii creates for you.

I am going to look into the modmii program right now and see if it's beneficial for me as well. If by SD access you mean from the sysmenu home screen though, then no I definitely do not have that.
Thanks for all the help so far

I just basically meant will the Wii read anything from your SD card, or better yet, do you know if the SD will even function. Since you were able to do a SysCheck then that already answers it. I really think ModMii is the way to go for you. It will basically do a ReMod of your Wii, it will overwrite anything that is messed up, and rewrite the newer files (IOS's, CIOS's, etc) already patched and ready to go. It does it all from just loading WAD files that are already setup. As long as something isnt messed up that would prevent a wad manager from running (once you let it help you reinstall the HBC) then i think you will be golden. Let me know how it comes out. If it works for you, gives me hope that if I ever mess up mine or a buddy's I'll be able to recover. Using ModMii, *so far* ive not had to test that theory through like 8 mods and 4 remods.

okay, well I did end up using modmii. And I was able to get downgraded to sysmenu 4.1U. However I am still experiencing the same basic problem as always. I can get everything to run fine in maintenance mode, but the menu will not load normally. After the health screen it just hangs on a black screen. And if I try to return to the system menu from a game or homebrew it will start to load then emit a high pitched beeping noise.
Thanks for the modmii though, the downgrade is really helpful, 4.1 is much easier to handle than 4.3 if something gets screwed up again.

Download DOP-Mii 14.2 -> http://wiibrew.org/w/images/f/fd/DopMiiBrew.zip

And install these IOS at lastest version:

9 10 12 13 14 15 17 21 22 28 31 33 34 35 36 37 38 53 55 56 57 58 61

If you have a wi-fi set, just select to Download from NUS, if not you will have to download NUS Downloader ( http://nusdownloader.googlecode.com/files/NUSD_v15aBeta.zip ) make a WAD from which one and them install with DOP-Mii telling it to look for the file at SD.

EDIT: Only now I saw you used ModMii. You should try a disc update to 4.2/4.3, it may solve this problem (and HBC will not be unninstalled if it is the last version).

I don't have any disc handy with an update higher than 4.1. The newest pressed disc I have is the netflix disc and it is 4.1 I believe. I did just try and use Det1re's Mailbox Brick Fix thinking that it was a mail brick, but that got me nowhere. Should I just start to accept that my wii only wants to run in maintenance mode? I'm really at a loss.

Is impossible to access settings menu from maintenance mode?

I can access settings, but my understanding is the only useful thing would be a format, and everytime I have tried that it just hangs, even if I leave it sit for hours on end. Do you mean to try an online update? cause I have done that before with no success.

Download with NUS IOS60-v6174 and SM 4.1 and install them with wad manager in this order.

Did, and no change at all. as soon as I exited HBC sysmenu tried to load then beeped loudly. Then on a restart just black screen after health warning as usual.

Do you have preloader\priiloader installed? Uninstall it.

Okay priiloader has been uninstalled, then I tried repeating the previous steps. Still no change.

Run sysCheck v2.0.1 again and post your log.

I've been watching your progress, this is an interesting one. Glad to see you used ModMii. The thing is, since you successfully used ModMii, there is really very little chance that there is something wrong with any of your IOS's or system menu files and everything, since ModMii fixes and reinstalls all that. You've done everything else I would have tried, (full Nintendo update, uninstall of PriiLoader, etc) Of course after you have done all of that mess, be sure to use ModMii again to get things back to normal...well. normal for you anyway. At this point I would have tried a format of the NAND, which you did already, so I'm at a loss. I'll keep watch to see what others come up with, this one has me interested, interesting for me, pain in the ass for you, I know but it is what it is.

I took to drastic measures late last night and ran 'format.elf' off of bootmii. It would not complete but I got enough installed to allow me to use cboot2 and eventually HBC again. Now I am in the position of trying to get all ios reinstalled so that the sysmenu will boot back up and only then can I see if this has had any effect on my problem. I will keep you updated though if/when anything happens and if I am able to solve this issue.

EDIT: I know the simple answer would be a disc update, but for whatever reason I can't get the recovery console to boot up, whether I messed up my GC controller too much and it's not loading or I'm missing a required file for it I don't know.

EDIT2: installed every original IOS (least I hope it was all of them) from a pack I found lying around. sysmenu still not loading but HBC seems to have full functionality installed ios 236 and waiting on modmii to download everything as though I have a virgin 3.x.
