Really sad news reporting on luke_c's part.

1)This is "DOP-Mii: WiiBrew Edition". It even has a different logo than the one posted above. This is not "DOP-Mii" which is a separate application.

2)This has been out for days and DOP-Mii: WiiBrew Edition will be getting another update later today.

3)You got this news from webrewii? Really? You'd rather direct users to an add infested pop-up ridden site then http://wiibrew.org ?

And before I get into anymore trouble from this site's staff: I'm not trolling. I'm expressing valid criticisms of the quality of reporting on my work in a less than entirely insipid manner.

v14 is the WiiBrew Edition, this is an update of the WiiBrew Edition I assume.
So what if it has been out for days? Having it posted sometime is better than not having posted at all. I was just working on a slight backlog and I am now up to date.
So what if I got the news from WeBrewWii? That was MY source, where I found the information, I may start posting links to WiiBrew pages in the future but it wouldn't be as a source link for the simple fact that it isn't my source.

You know what they say, if you want something done right, do it yourself. No one is stopping you from posting homebrew

EDIT: I have updated the post with the name changed to Wiibrew edition, changed the logo to the correct one and added a link to the Wiibrew page.

Am I the only person who has a problem with this download? I have tried the filetrip link and the direct Wiibrew link but when I look at my download the app folder is empty??

I'd just get the latest HBC and use the official update

Hmm, it gives me an error when extracting for some reason.
edit: now says CRC error (on both Wiibrew and Filetrip version btw)

Mine appears to download ok. When I look in the zipped folder there is an app and config folder the config folder has the config files inside but the app folder is completely empty. Do you think this may have something to do with the update Arikado mentioned earlier?

the "better late than never" excuse is kind of poor. especially when it's late reporting on homebrew on a homebrew site. i remember thinking how pathetic it was that my m3i0 wasn't getting updated (this was back when it actually was), and imagine my surprise when i took the time to visit the m3 forum and found that i was a full 3 versions behind.

i started getting my info direct from the forum, and i recall the next update getting posted onto the front page a couple weeks late. it was just sad.

sad like checking the scene releases only to see a full column of months-old VC or wiiware releases.

i do agree with posting the source as the actual source, though. it just might seem that you need a better source. wiibrew has a newsfeed right on the front page.

I wasn't planning on responding to you luke_c but you bring up a few points I'd like to address.

"v14 is the WiiBrew Edition, this is an update of the WiiBrew Edition I assume."
We branched the project. We now have two flavors of it: "Dop-Mii" and "Dop-Mii: WiiBrew Edition". the difference is that the WiiBrew Edition removes features from Dop-Mii so that the app can be displayed on WiiBrew. Most users on GBATemp probably only care about "Dop-Mii" so I question the purpose of even posting news about the WiiBrew Edition branch here.

"So what if it has been out for days? Having it posted sometime is better than not having posted at all. I was just working on a slight backlog and I am now up to date."
Instead of posting old news that people already knew about for days, how about posting new news which people don't yet know about and actually care about? Also, with the exception of "Dop-Mii: WiiBrew Edition" I always post news of my new releases in multiple forums (including these ones of course) within 30 minutes of making a release.

"So what if I got the news from WeBrewWii? That was MY source, where I found the information, I may start posting links to WiiBrew pages in the future but it wouldn't be as a source link for the simple fact that it isn't my source."
WeBrewWii is a horrible source. They themselves repeatedly post wii homebrew news late and make errors in their reporting which you copy without fact checking. Furthermore, they source nearly all of their stuff from WiiBrew.org . You might as well save yourself the trouble of fact checking and posting misinformation like this and just grab your news from WiiBrew.org too (then you will hear about releases on time too). Another great source is pdroms.de

"You know what they say, if you want something done right, do it yourself. No one is stopping you from posting homebrew

As a matter of fact I do (with the exception of "Dop-Mii: WiiBrew Edition" which I assume most people on gbatemp wouldn't care about).

luke_c, you strike as me as someone who is very lazy and does not appreciate nor enjoy the role of posting news for gbatemp. I wonder why you even do it?
