Sorry if this has already been asked but I can't get the game to work on 5.50 GEN-D4/Prometheus, it just hangs on a black screen after the PSP logo.

I got the game from LL, from what I read there all people do is updated to GEN-D4 or Prometheus as it's called now and it works, but it won't work for me, all my other games work fine though inluding new stuff like Ys Seven

Hey guys...new around here and kind of PSP-dumb. I'm pretty sure I have prometheus, but I can't tell (someone else did this for me). Is there a way to tell? In the system info screen, it says software is "5.50 Gen-B (Full)". Should I be upgrading (I had this modded like, a year ago, so maybe it's just out of date?)?

When I start up this game, it goes to the PSP screen, and then hangs and goes back to the home area and says "The game could not be started (80020321)". Is this because I have a patched version? Should I try a clean ISO?

It's out of date.

Assuming this is a fully-hackable 1000 or 2000 and it's not "temporary" firmware you have to ChickHEN each time the PSP cuts off...

Check the sticky here on modding/hacking it.
You want to go to the step where they upgrade from M33 to Gen-D3, just do that step.
Then it should say GEN-D3.

Then download and run this.

Then it should say Prometheus.

That should make the game work.

I'm told that the game works with m33-Prometheus by redsquirrel....going to try it in a few minutes.

Edit: UPDATE - Works on m33-Prometheus

works patched with ISO Tool 1.7

Got it working, with the patch I installed months ago to run the Japanese version.

Runs fine for now on 5.00 M33-6.

Will report any errors later on.

I never know how to do this stuff, so now I feel all accomplished even though it was just following instructions. :')

EDIT: Um. So I was playing just fine and then the game just went black, and my PSP shut off. Now it won't turn back on (or, it turns on, but nothing comes up, and then it turns back off). Lol...did my PSP just self-combust or something?

EDIT2: Okay, it didn't brick, but my game crashes and then I need to pull out the battery to turn it back on. So...why is my game crashing? ...Okay, now even taking the battery out doesn't fix it. lol. Is it bricked?

Disappointed, not that I was expecting much.
Story is rushed, shit voice actors.

I'm impressed by the options though, change the cpu speed and 16bit colors to 32bit, that's just about it.

Crap it is not. GOTY for me.
Protip: As soon as you can access Disney Town in Ven's Story, go to the Gizmo room and activate the err... gizmos. Go to the pinball room, get to the top, exit, you'll be in the Race Way now, with High Jump equipped jump above the boxes and use the Fire Dash command twice to get across to the other side of the area, Superglide'll be waiting there :3.
