Thanks for the reminder of quite a funny moment in Penny Arcade's colourful history. Quite a lot better than this ROM release, and oddly relevant too.

Not quite. Shortcake is a round yellow sponge cake. Strawberry shortcake is when you take said sponge cake and cover it with fresh strawberries and whipped cream or ice cream. It's good stuff, great for in the summer.

Not quite. Shortcake is a round yellow sponge cake. Strawberry shortcake is when you take said sponge cake and cover it with fresh strawberries and whipped cream or ice cream. It's good stuff, great for in the summer.

Shortcake is not really cake, it's biscuit and it aint round or yellow it's usually brown and square and is covered in sugar.

Recipe:
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons shortening
3/4 cup half and half
Melted butter to brush shortcakes

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in butter and shortening. Mix in half-and-half. Drop by large spoonfuls onto a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 15 minutes or until brown.

Thank you for this one, I will now try and surprise my girlfriend by baking her a strawberry shortcake. Is this thing better to be served with coffee or tea? (NOTE: Not being sarcastic...or maybe only a little
