Alright I read through the whole thread and I still can't get my sZXF (sZYE) songs to show up.
I hex edited and renamed all the bin files to sZYE, I got another copy of the tik file and named it 735a5945.tik and hex edited that to sZYE too.
I have the folder 735a5945/content with all my dlc in it. I updated my dlc save.
I renamed the tmd to title.tmd and made it was sZYE too.
Still only my DLC and sZXE shows up.

One thing I did notice is that even when I convert my 000.bin (when its hex edited to sZYE) it goes back to sZXE after converted.
Anything I am missing?

this is a little compilation of all informations for the people who want to install more than 255 songs.

You must use also sZYE or sZZE.
Create 2 new tickets on your Nand (get a copy of the file ticket/0010005/63524241.tik):

Rename it to :

-ticket/0010005/735a5945.tik (Hex edit it, replacing cRBA with sZYE)
-ticket/0010005/735a5a45.tik (Hex edit it, replacing cRBA with sZZE)

-Add 255 songs with the improved method to step 8
-Close Rawksd3
-Hex edit file RawkSD 3 configuration file (rawkswf.conf) replacing sZXE with sZYE.
-step 5 to 8 again (255 songs max)
-Close Rawksd3
-Hex edit file RawkSD 3 configuration file (rawkswf.conf) replacing sZYE with sZZE.
-step 5 to 10 (255 songs max)
-repeat step 11 to 16 with all tickets you use (735a5845, 735a5945, 735a5a45)

You just need to update the RB2 save one time.
You don't need to hex edit your custom files or tmd with the improved method, rawksd3 do the job, just rename tmd to title.tmd
I test it with ~450 customs (sZXE & sZYE) and all RB2 DLC, i have ~1490 songs in RB2 and it run very well.
The game can freeze when you you want to quit the tracklist with red button (to change character or back to the main menu), so i prefer use the Exit command to back to the main menu when i finish a song.
This is my experience, maybe you have some tricks to improved this method ?

That's exactly what I did. I got a total 1671 songs which includes

All DLCs as of Aug 10, 2010
+ songs from
Rock Band 1
Rock Band Track Pack vol 1
Rock Band Track Pack vol 2
Rock Band Classic Rock Track Pack
Rock Band Country Track Pack
Rock Band Metal Track Pack
Lego Rock band
Band Hero
Rock Band: Green Day
Rock Band: AC/DC
Guitar Hero: Van Halen
Guitar Hero: Metallica
Guitar Hero: Smash Hits
Guitar Hero: World Tour

However, I'm pretty sure it didn't copied everything. I noticed Green Day is missing about 4 or more songs. 'Basket Case' was one them... I checked the ripped library in RawkSD3, it was there. I just don't know where it got lost in the translation. Anybody here got the same problem or got the solution?

Another question, what if I exhausted sZXE, sZYE & sZZE with 255 songs on each. What's the next folder name we should use?

you could star going up the alphabet. sZWE, sZVE, etc. I think sZXE was used just because it's really far from where rb2 will ever reach but in all reality you only need this until rawksd3 is released

I can't seem to compile the tmd trim code posted on the first page. Does anyone have any luck?
You have to compile tools.c from http://code.google.com/p/wii-fsck/source/b.../wii-fsck/?r=74

Bear in mind that for customs it is useless. If you install all DLC is useless as well.

Well i gave this a go, and it half worked. The guide was pretty easy to follow, the only confusion i had was someone else saying 000.bin needs to be decrypted last, and it didn't seem to make a difference if it was done first or last.

I tried adding Green Day Rock Band, but the first problem was that only 36 of the 44 songs appeared on the track list. If i hover over those songs, the preview plays ok but if i actually try to play one, the wii hangs loading the song. I have only tried a handful of times but since it takes 10-15 minutes to load each time it's not something that's easy to troubleshoot.

edit:

just a couple of things i have noticed since posting which may shed some light, or not, i'll leave that for the experts to decide!

The missing Green Day songs is not a RB2 problem, it's a RawkSD 2 problem. When exporting the tracks using RawkSD 3 and then opening them in RawkSD 2, 8 of the songs just don't appear. I'm not sure why that happens, perhaps there's something in them that it doesn't understand *NOW FIXED*

Good Riddance crashes the wii. Ironically that was the song i was testing when i had the 36 songs before, and it's only that one causing the crash and perhaps there is an indexing problem for that one but i don't know how to read the title.tmd file to see. I do know that if i try to redownload it from the disc later on it keeps overwriting 009.bin and 010.bin even though they aren't the ones it's meant to be using. Could someone else with GD RB test this song and see if it crashes for them too, or if it's just me?

ok, i just needed a good night's sleep to get my head around the RawkSD incompatibility problems. I have found out how to get the missing songs to appear in RawkSD 2 now, which in turn will allow them to be added to your RB2 save game, so for anyone missing songs (affected songs are listed at the bottom of the post), go into the SDPC\rawk\rb2\customs\songtitle folder and open the data file in a hex editor

scroll down to the bottom and look for a section like this:

83AXC.gif

This tuning offset part stops it from being listed in RawkSD 2 so you need to remove it (i do not know how this will affect the song, but most songs do not have it) you must make sure you remove from the 05 before "tuning_offset" to just before the 05 before "context"

DON'T edit the SDPC\rawk\rb2\customs data file which has all the individual data files combined in it, as this is the one RawkSD 3 uses and if you edit those songs then they will disappear from RawkSD 3 the next time you load it

Affected Songs (list will be updated as i import more songs)

AC/DC Rock Band: None
Rock Band 1: Black Hole Sun, Don't Look Back In Anger, Nightmare & Roam
Green Day Rock Band: Basket Case, Brain Stew/Jaded, Burnout, F.O.D, Having A Blast, Nice Guys Finish Last, Sassafras Roots & Warning
Lego Rock Band: Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Ride A White Swan, Two Princes & We Will Rock You

well it takes around 10 minutes for the game to load for me as well. but that's not the problem, the problem is that the game just randomly hangs whilst scrolling through the track list!

hmmmmm... since it takes 10 minutes with about any dlc, and still 10ish minute with all rawksd imports, i wonder how long it'd take with the official dlc tmds removed and just rawksd ones installed. ie are the rawk ones more efficient?

You don't need it unless you're recrypting the files as far as i know, i never used it anyway and mine works. I'm not actually sure you need the Xyzzy code (console id) either as i decrypted a whole bunch of sZEE DLC from the NUS site the other day forgetting to put the ng_id.txt in the folder and the DLC all still appeared and worked., however i still used it anyway with this, just in case

yeah
What are the steps required to run it to create this file?
I tried running v2 patcher, v2 installer and v3 all with no success.
