the page needs translating
"It seems a new dash is on its way that will stop the ixtreme-lite touch firmwares. The news comes from a french source and is said to result in an instant ban. *Update* We now have a translation: "It simply says that the new dashboard update will be able to send DVD Drive information to Microsoft. So you'll get banned with this update and a LT firmware."
Here's the source"

I don't know if I would fully believe this until all the facts are out. From my understanding, it's the hardware that can't read the firmware off the DVD drive, and the software doesn't have anything to do with it. If that's the case, as I'm pretty sure it is, then a firmware update won't change that.

I always thought why they didn't do something like this. I have no idea if it is possible, but surely it's just a case of reading it and getting the CRC32/hash values and if they don't match up, then ban away.

Well we'll soon see, truth is no one will know until people start to get banned again. Who knows, maybe they have no idea of how to trace people with LT.

exactly why are you mad? you should know by now if you get your console flashed you will get banned eventually.
I'm not that mad, just a little pissed. I was hoping I could survive the ban wave, but now it's just a impossibility.

so then currently ms does get the information sent to them but they aren't able to determine whether or or not you have LT or not. Loosers.
So then they can ban you for just having your xbox flashed. See now thats just plain wrong. When did we lose our freedom to play *legally* backed up games online. *he says laughing his head off*

... yeahhh i had a LT flashed 360, yet i found myself never using it on live, so i just sold it off, now just have a normal 360 1.6NS for jsut running games, and a Ps3 for the online gaming

I'll never ever want to experience the day when i turn on my 360 and that ban message comes up, oh the horror.

I got banned last november, bought an arcade & flashed it with lite touch the day it came out. I;ve been good ever since.

If i get banned when the new dashboard comes out, I figure I can spend £130~ on a new 360 & a copy of black ops.

I wonder.....someone like me, who doesn't bother with the online in any game....I wouldn't be affected, right? I mean, how would MS know anything if I never took the system online?

They wouldn't? Unless there's some secret 3G chip in there that will get enabled in this new magical fimware update.

if you never went online, you are basically banning yourself. But even if you flash the dvd drive to stock now , you'll still likely to get banned if you do go online
