Ok what you need to do to save on your g6 real / lite is apply the arm7.bin patch to the rom. You can find the files on this forum, you also need to use dslazy to unpack. Apply rudolfs patch to the rom first. I can save fine and it works without freeze on g6 real with 4.8h m3 firmware.

Btw, why should we unpack the file?
You say, apply arm7 and unpack. But first apply the rudolfs patch.
So I apply rudolfs patch than arm7 and than unpack?! But why unpack.

I got mine to work using Ventrix's suggestion. I tried different orders of patching, and here is the one that worked:

1) Unpack your HG/SS using DSlazy.
2) Replace the arm7.bin file with one that works (I tried a few, the working one was from the Max Crass method.)
3) Repack the game, at this point it will save, but will still freeze.
4) Now you apply Rudolph's patch.
5) Enjoy!

Mine still freezes after around 120 events, but that's amazing after not being able to play at all.

if you use the pokemon platinum arm7 it will be flawless on g6 lite. we played it so far with 0 freezes and up to 8 badges now.

I followed these steps but used the Pokemon Platinum arm7.bin and when I go to use the Rudolph patch it says "Can't find the universal code pattern to be patched." Anyone got any tips? Oh, it might be a bad rom.

I gave up and just ordered it for $27, free shipping. My G6 barely ever works now, I think it's actually the Passcard that's been crapping out. The only DS game I still play is a legit copy of Picross 3D anyway so whatever.
