I actually started to build the last rev of NUSAD to accept cmd line commands, but unfortunately it doesn't work after compiling NUSAD into an executable file (*.exe)... it works fine while in *.bat form. But I've grown attached to distributing NUSAD as an exe file, so I don't plan on spending anymore time on accepting cmd line commands any time soon (maybe I will again in the future, but for now, I have plenty of other idea's for the next version to keep me very busy!). Besides, I think a very small number of people would actually use the cmd line functionality if it were to be supported.

an oversight on my part, you need the following files also saved to your SD card
IOS15-64-v1031.wad
IOS36-64-v3607.wad

get them using nusd for now, i'll put out a quick update fixing NUSAD asap (u can probably expect it within 24 hours)

thx for bringing this to my attention

OK next update lol

Well afer it failed there I went back and re-did the 4.3e update online. This cleared out any previous tries I had done.

Then went through guide from scratch and perfect first time (ish)

Cheers again

I'm going to be releasing v4.1.8 pretty soon, TBR v1.13 requires IOS15v1031 be saved on the root of the sd card, not in the wad folder, so v4.1.7 and v4.1.8 are going to be pretty much almost exactly the same as 4.1.6

(I knew I should've waiting to get home and test where the IOS needs to be saved BEFORE releasing v4.1.7)

NUSAD v4.1.8 released!

v4.1.8 changelog
*Fixed bug where IOS15v1031 was saved only to the wad folder instead of the wad folder AND the root of the SD Card

This should be the last bug-fix update, the next update won't come until I've finished adding my latest feature/idea (or until there is a new hackmii installer or cIOSs)

sorry for the back to back bug-fix updates

edit: I am currently working on my last set of ideas/features, so after my next major update, future updates will be made only to keep up with ninty updates or supporting app updates

edit2: If anyone has any features they'd like added to NUSAD, I would absolutely love to hear about them. It doesn't matter how big or small your idea is, I want to hear it!

Hello, Thank you for this tool!
I havnt had a wii since early this year, when it was still 4.2, so when I grabbed a wii this morning and ran the update, like an idiot, without checking first if it was still on 4.2, I was bummed!

Anyways, I Formated my Wii before doing the update...

so I got your tool & deleted my old files from my SD card, created my new SD card, 2gig Kingston that I used before with my 4.2u files, and started the up SSBB, it asked if I wanted to create a save file, I tryd with a save file and then deleted it and tried again, I went to vault, stage builder and clicked SD card and it freezes...

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
-Becca

I copied and pasted the instructions below, but basically, start the game without your sd card in the wii, then delete all the custom stages you have in the stage builder. Then exit the game, insert the sd card with the appropriate files on it, then retry the smash stack hack.

QUOTE said:
SMASH STACK EXPLOIT

REQUIREMENTS: * US version of Super Smash Brothers Brawl (RSBE)
* A non-SDHC card since game doesn't support SDHC cards

Insert the Super Smash Brothers Brawl Game.

You have to delete all the custom stages you have created before running this hack (if applicable),
otherwise be prepared for annoying harmless crashes

Then insert your SD Card, start the game and go to the stage builder,
it should launch the boot.elf/dol file saved on the root of your SD card.

Thank You so much for this tool!

Do You Have ANY idea how excited i was once I got into hackmi???

:EDIT:
Ok, I got all the wads installed correctly and they all said Ok
But,
The TBR did have the errors
But I continued past them, and once I got the NAND backed up I went into HBC.
I wasnt able to install the preloader even with the B & + option
So i opened TBR and tried to downgrade 15 from here & it errors here also,
So since I was on 4.2, I got another SD Card & loaded my 4.2 software on it
the TBR on that said it failed & to get an updated TBR...
lol
So I went back to yours & it still errors...
Setting the revision to 0
Error: ES_AddTitleFinish returned -1017
Error: Could not set the revision to 0
Downgrade failed

So I wanted to hit you back and see if there is anything I can do now?
Should I load StartPatch?
((BootMii is a Boot2)))

I tried loading Anytitle Deleter and it fails to load too
I tried to install NeoGamma7.wad and that fails to install, so how can I play backup disks?

Is there anyway this could just be downgraded to a Virgin 4.2, im good at modding those... LOL

:END EDIT:
smile.gif

:EDIT 2:
I ran USB loader GX & playd a game from my USB drive & that works great...
but I would still like to play my backup disks, I have a few that I dont have on the USB drive
:END EDIT 2:

By the way, I am still VERY GREATFUL to you for making this!
how do I donate?

im not making any money on this one, since it is mine & I just have to know I can do it, but I will be modding Wiis again now & Will donate next week after I make money on my first 4.3 using you tools
::: Everyone, please donate at least something if your making money using his stuff... :::

Thanks,
-Becca

I want to say thank you for making such a useful app m8 it is definitely appreciated on this end.

But I have a small problem. I have a 4.1 U virgin and was updating to 4.2U recommended.
I installed the Homebrew Channel (HBC), DVDX [optional], and Bootmii as IOS and boot2. HBC is using IOS IOS61.
and i gotten all the way to step 3) RESTORING THE TRUCHA BUG

Start the Homebrew Channel and use it to load Multi-Mod Manager (MMM).
In MMM, Go down to select "Install & Patch IOS36" and choose express mode.

It finds and passes the first file it looks for which is this one. IOS15-64-v523.wad and passes hash check.

but on the second file check it says hash check failed then file not found. for this one IOS15-64-v257.wad. said something about not able to find it in sd/wad/
So I copy IOS15-64-v257.wad to the wad folder and run install & patch again, finds the file but it still says check hash failed and I cannot proceed beyond this. I tryed to go on to step4 and was able to install some wads but I had many that sayed title something and didn't install i believe.

Here is the list of wads that where downloaded to the folder

You're unique list of wads to install are as follows:

* IOS11v257(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP])
* IOS20v257(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP])
* IOS30v2817(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP])
* IOS50v5121(IOS50v4889[FS-ES-NP])
* IOS60v6401(IOS60v6174[FS-ES-NP])
* IOS70v6913(IOS70v6687[FS-ES-NP])
* System Menu 4.2U
* cIOS202[57]-v5
* cIOS223[37-38]-v4
* cIOS222[38]-v5
* cIOS224[57]-v5
* cIOS249[57]-v19
* cIOS250[37]-v19
* cMIOS-MPv0.2-v4
* Mii Channel (Region Free)
* IOS9v778
* IOS12v269
* IOS13v273
* IOS14v520
* IOS17v775
* IOS21v782
* IOS22v1037
* IOS28v1550
* IOS31v3349
* IOS33v3091
* IOS34v3348
* IOS35v3349
* IOS37v3869
* IOS38v3867
* IOS53v5406
* IOS55v5406
* IOS56v5405
* IOS57v5661
* IOS58v6175
* IOS61v5661
* usbloader(s)-(emulators)-IDCL

What do I need to do to go on and finish the process. Sorry for being a noob. Its my first cherry poppin for a wii...

@OhYa, okay, where do I start

For your 4.3 wii, u can't skip the TBR step, if u do then u can't install a patched 236, without a patched 236, u can't install ALL the wads in the WAD folder (if u did manage to install them all, then u should be on SM4.2 right now)

this is what you do, u make sure u have IOS41 installed (the older 4.2 version that came with the wizard), then u launch TBRv1.13, SELECT IOS41, this is very important, then downgrade IOS15, and load everything from the sd card. If unsuccessful, repeat until successful.

Then, go into MMM, and load IOS15, then go to IOS manager, then hit "1" to install a cios, and choose "36", then select to install it to slot "236", and set it to version "65535" (any version will work, but may as well max it out).

then in MMM, reload to IOS236, and u will be able to install the wads u need to downgrade to v4.2 (IOS70 and 4.2X System menu)

then continue with the guide, most important thing is to get bootmii+nand backup and priiloader installed

Thanks for the kind words, seriously

@Carlitosway2k8,

redownload IOS15v257 using nusad, make sure it passes the hash check in the program, then copy it to your SD card again (it can be saved either on the root of the card or the "wad" folder, makes no difference for MMM or Dop-Mii). Then repeat the Express Install for patching IOS36 in MMM, it should work, if u continue to get errors, u can always try using wifi to download from "nintendo servers", but the wad on the SD Card file should work fine (and faster).

You need a patched IOS36 in order to install your list of unique wads

Ive downloaded it again hit L and A to verify said file was good. I assume it passed the hash check. I did the same thing to when I first downloaded it and I remember saying all files are good and 0 errors. I'll try installing it tomorrow. Where I am installing it there is no wifi or internet

Hope it works thanks for the fast response.

it could easily be done, but 4.3 is not any better than 4.2 or 4.1, and if a user loads the 4.3 SM before enabling system menu hacks, they will lose the HBC, as well as the ability to launch Bannerbomb. Without a forwarder channel on the wii, a Japanese/Korean wii in this situation would be un-moddable. And USA and Euro Wii's would need to use the Smash Stack or Indiana Pwns exploits to recover their softmods.

So basically, staying on 4.3 is a route with more opportunities for noobs to make mistakes. So to answer your question, I don't have any plans to support uprading to 4.3, at least not until there is a new homebrew channel. And even then, its still a maybe.

As I said, it can be easily done, but just because you can do something, doesn't mean u should
biggrin.gif
. There is ZERO benefit to being on 4.3 over 4.1 or 4.2. It just makes it harder to mod or re-mod your Wii.

Great update on this for 4.3!
My friend, who's deaf, and mentally challenged, updated to 4.3, so i'm re-hacking with the
SSBB exploit, and installing preloader so he does'nt update again.
Oh, and I changed my avatar from the grinding girl I had before!
Thanks again, xflak! Keep up the good work!

    One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.

    I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
