I've now tested r106 on my sisters Wii ans it works without problems. It seams the problem is related to the Wii Sneek is run on.

Yeah, it's a bit strange...I tried r106 (compiled from someone else, maybe there is the problem) with my 4.2E Dump, but it didn't worked. But the SNEEK created from the Installer (r102) worked fine with the 4.2E and the updated 4.3E. However, even with 4.3E r106 refused to work, Blackscreen.

So, I dunno. Could be that the SNEEK+DI I got was compiled wrong, or we have again an unstable rev which doesn't work on all Wiis...

Try with the 0000000e.app from IOS 70 and the 00000001.app from IOS 60 like previous revisions. It's the easiest way to make it work (I said it once and it seems nobody saw my post). Of course, you'll still need to have the sysmenu 4.2 on the emulated NAND.

Mhm? Why would I still need 4.2 on the emulated NAND? 4.3 worked fine with r102 (though no DI Menu, but r106 should fix that). Do I miss something?

Anyways, I'm sorry, I can't compile it myself. I only have Ubuntu, and have some serious problems with NUS-Downloader (Buttons missing) and Errors thrown at me during compiling with the old parts (like you suggested). I've spent the whole day trying to fix those, but didn't get far.

Same question: why would we need 4.3 on the emulated NAND if r106 works perfectly using IOS 70? What I mean is, if you want to use it and have problems with the 0000000e.app from IOS 80, using sysmenu 4.2 with IOS 70 like any other revision wouldn't hurt anyone, considering the update doesn't bring up any good changes (at least not that I know).

EDIT: ChokeD, it would be OK if you add this info temporarily to the main post until a solution is find. Maybe that way you can avoid posts like "the newer revisions doesn't work for me".

There's an updated Installer GUI for r106 that should do the trick for you.

Edit: Never mind, it's not working for me either. I assume it's downloading IOS80's 0000000e.app file, which people are having trouble with.

Hi guys, giving a go installing SNEEK.

I want to build a virgin 4.2SM NAND using NUSD

I have followed the instructions posted on the first page up to step 12

How to get a virgin NAND using NUSD and showmiiwads:
1. Download IOS70 v6687 with NUSD, make sure you decrypt it and pack a .wad
2. Download System Menu 4.2X (what ever version Wii you have) with NUSD, decrypt it and pack a .wad
3. Open ShowMiiWads
4. Create a blank folder on desktop (I named mine "Scratch 4.2U NAND")
5. Click on Options -> Change NAND backup path. Select the folder you just created.
6. Click View -> ShowMiiNAND (the program is now called "ShowMiiNand")
7. Drag the two .wad files you downloaded through NUSD to ShowMiiNand.
8. At the bottom click install
9. copy your setting.txt from an actual dump to the title/00000001/00000002/data folder that was created in your "blank folder"
10. copy the four folders: title, ticket, sys, shared1 to the root of whatever device you are going to be using to host your NAND.
11. Launch SNEEK/UNEEK and it will be as if it is the first time you started your wii (in reality it is, and you may have to wait a couple minutes the first time you boot it up this time only)
12. Update through System Update
13. Voila, a scratch made NAND (Thanks RussSteele82)

I have done everything up to step 12. What is the purpose of step 12? I don't have wifi at the moment so I can't update through the System Menu. Is this step simply to install the official IOS? Can I just install the official IOS using NUSD?

Yes, and yes.

Thanks.

I ran the 4.2e NAND under the Bootmii IOS. I copied the settings file from a 3.3e Bootmii dump.

After configuring the setting for the wii (Time, region etc), I got a black screen saying that an error has occurred and I should contact the wii manual.

Then, I restarted the wii and run the NAND again. This time, the first screen I got is the screen you get when you exit wii games (The very first fade in screen you get when you choose to return to the wii menu from a game). after that, I get the same error as mentioned above.

My bootmii settings are: pal50, SYSMENU and 5 seconds delay.

Can anyone help?

I finally got SNEEK+DI to boot with the latest installer. The problem that I am having is booting Balloon Pop off the HDD and a WiiWare. Balloon Pop goes to a black screen and the Wiiware game is doing nothing after I hit the Start button. I think the problem lies in the virgin NAND that I created using the guide from the first post. Step 12 says to do a system update. I was able to update the SM to 4.3U but it would not let me access the SNEEK game menu. I have looked everywhere on trying to update the virgin 4.2U nand to a full version. Is there a way to do the update? Thanks for any help and to this great guide.

Updated the OP, thanks for the news SanGor.

This part of the guide has been giving a few people problems so I am taking it out of the guide until a better way is found or is brought to my attention.

made a few changes and re-posed it in the OP.

Smallest NAND possible for SNEEK
:
EssentialFiles
For a SNEEK NAND you can make it even smaller. You need the following and nothing more:
1. Systemmenu (get from NUSD)
2. Systemmenu IOS (non-STUB) (get from NUSD)
3.2 + IOS30
3.3 + IOS50
3.4 + IOS50
4.0 + IOS 60
4.1 + IOS 60
4.2 + IOS 70
3. setting.txt (placed in SD:/title/00000001/00000002/data/setting.txt) (must match region of systemmenu) (get from a NAND dump)
NOTE: with this set up it:
WILL give you a black screen for up to five minutes before it goes to first time set up.
WILL give you a black screen for up to five minutes between the health screen and showing you the system menu.
This is for the first time only. After that it will be fast.

I would think that using the first technique with NUSAD to get the folder with all the wads/ios's from 4.2 SM update through/via NUSAD, then installing them with showmiiwads to your "Scratch 4.2U NAND" folder, skip step 12 as it wouldn't be needed any longer, as stated above, is the way to go, however, I have not tested this and can't at the moment.

ANYONE ??

SNEEK+DI r106 still doesn't work for me, even with the official Installer
frown.gif
. Just a black screen, and the slot doesn't light up, as it's supposed to be (for me, it lights up when SNEEK works). Using a 4.2 or 4.3 Backup, plug the USB Stick after the Boot in, boot with the stick inserted, nothing worked. Damn, I would love to try r106, but it seems to be impossible for me...
