That's said, it's a little bit ridiculous to compile and distribute every new revisions as soon as they are comitted, remember those are generally only minor developper changes and most users probably never notice any differences (at least, I don't see any in regards of the game I'm playing), just stick with a recent version which has the new GUI and wait for the official stable release when it comes.

I disagree and think that's out of order for you to say that. I for one appreciate these releases, if you don't like them then don't download them, but don't try and tell other people what they should or shouldn't be doing..

I'm only telling that the new revisions does not bring anything really new, those are just few emulation fixes that most user won't even notice. Hence why there is no point in distributing them everytime a single line of code has been modified on SVN, only when something important is changed.

But for that, you would need people reading the changelog carefully and not jumping on every revision like "OMG, there is something NEW to try out !!!"

yes , apparently there is a limitation (from a quick look into the code it's now limited to 500 roms per directory)

http://code.google.com/p/genplus-gx/source...x/gui/filesel.h

you should definitively put your roms in sub-directories, it also makes the ROM browser load faster

EDIT: Apparently, the last revision can now be downloaded directly from the official website: http://code.google.com/p/genplus-gx/downloads/list

Thank you!!
I will just try your suggestion

exactly always some form of performance fix. unless there are memory leaks we don't get to know about.
half the reason i don't distribute the binary anymore, it's pointless to even compile and distribute a binary unless there is a major fix or alteration in the code.

Sega CD support has been finnished working 100% in gen+. you all have Xander150 to thank that it will never be released. let it be known i don't take insults to well.

Funny, I don't believe you

Show some proofs (like code sample or video) , you won't impress anybody (neither get much attention if that's you need) with free claims like that

why? throwing out the code snippit is like leaking code. and seeing it sez "that it will never be released" so no go. as for attention. and i don't need attention for something that i do. if you want it you can wait for eke eke to add my plugin into the code. as for a video. i can set one up and then get ranted upon by everyone, begging asking blah blah blah BS BS. btw if you wanna flame PM me with the personal matter it's better than wasting space. believe it if you want. i'll post a video.

Has anyone been able to get this to load from within USB Loader GX homebrew launcher? If so, what CIOS did you use and what revision?

I know this is a petty request but does anyone have a version of genplus that doesn't code dump when you choose return to loader when running as a channel. So many revisions but this issue has still not been fixed! I'm running r429!

any homebrew should load the same way, if it doesn't then it's because the loader is bugged, CIOS has nothing to deal with this

Now that's interesting... and what does your "plugin" exactly ? Technically i mean, how does it work ?
That's be really interesting I think. A "Sega CD" plugin. A plugin for an emulator which emulates a whole different System? A "plugin" for an emulator that doesn't support plugins? Very suspicious.
apparently you don't understand the meaning of a plugin,add-on, or so on. unlike xanders little plug-in where it adds support for the use of ios 202, my plugin adds support for an actual sega cd disc img. for people that don't understand what an img is the most easy way to explain for people that want to be dull headed is an iso. as for the "A plugin for an emulator which emulates a whole different System?" you do know that the sega cd was an actual attachment to the original Genesis added a little more ram and support for sega cd's. infact it went as far if i can remember as 4 models.these models being Wondermega, Sega Multi Mega,Mega Drive II and Mega-CD II. so adding on to whats already there is easy. the original mega drive used a Motorola 68000, as did the original sega cd up to about 12 mhz. ok so we have a little bit of a fix in the code for loading the roms. so IF the file is an iso THEN it loads the game useing the sega cd functions and code for running the game ELTSIF the file is other wise another file format End. i will post up a small snippit of one of the files. to better understand for people with a more technical understanding.

thank you, that's exactly what I was waiting: you just proved you knew nothing about sega CD emulation (quoting random stuff from wikipedia never made anyone a genious btw)
rolleyes.gif

and thanks, we know what a cd image is, if we only need to handle that or to know how to code "IF THEN ELSE" to make emulators we would all be writing ones right now !

Indeed, like most people, you thing sega-CD just need a "plugin" to handle CD image when it is WAY MORE complicated than that or a few additional RAM: the sega-CD is a whole console, it has its own CPU (a second 68000 running IN PARALLEL with the genesis one), its own sound chips, it own graphic chip with unique rotating/scaling features, CD drive unit, etc... All of these NEED to be emulated along with genesis emulation, both programs running (on the two 68000) being able to communicate which each others through hardware registers that need to be emulated as well, and it's certainly not just" a little bit of a fix in the code " or "using the sega cd functions and code" lol

now, I'd suggest you stop pretending to be what you are not, playing smart-ass on the internet when you are not always fail
