Hacking Sick of my Acekard

I am so sick of my Acekard, I've never had as much trouble with any other card, R4, M3, M3i Zero etc as I've had with this card. I'm sure most of it is down to the contact issue but I don't understand how you can have something brand new out of the box and have to stick bloody bits of cardboard in it.
I have games freeze all the time so once again it's pull it in and out, more cardboard, ahh. Then yesterday switched the DS on, AKAIO boots up but no game starts every single game just goes to white screens, that was enough for me back to my M3i.
Yes AKAIO is a beautiful firmware but if Normmatt decides he's had enough what then and you do get what you pay for, Acekard being a £10 card.
I think from now on it's just going to be used for games that don't work on my M3i which unfortunately might be quite few with the way that card's getting updated at the moment.
Ok rant over, sorry about that but had to get it off my chest.

3 days of the acekard and im having problems with it that no one can solve
i cant get heartgold to run without freezing
i tried everything but still freezing
i tried other microsd card
i tried other akaio firmwares
i tried formatting
i tried using different dumps
i tried using different dma modes
but stil FREEZING
but u have a m3 zero to go back to, i only have a stupid r4 ultra thats a acekard clone and i cant even get wood on it
i have nothing else to do
and no one can try to fix my problem and normmatt is getting mad at me because he thinks im some noob who cant even put games on a microsd card

piece of cardboard from a toiletpaper roll does the trick for me, no more freezing, no more system rebooting, etc If you don't like the cardboard tab, just decorate it with glitter

i got mine of 16th june and the first time i played heartgold ...................... FREEZE

and its a weird type of freeze because it only freezes when entering a battle and/or building and that black screen of loading turns into a black screen of death but the music is still playing

You either have a fake Acekard or a wrong one. Just make sure you have an Acekard 2i, the micro SD properly formated and inserted without any dust or other junk that can interfere with any connection, and download the latest AKAIKO firmware release. HeartGold/SoulSilver has been fixed under AKAIKO for a while now but I don't think it's been fixed under the latest Acekard firmware.

His problem is with a single game, so isn't the same issue as yours.

Have you tried the other paper tricks? I have 3 in my guide.

The white screens can be caused by updating the loaders, have you updated them? There's also a known bug in AKAIO 1.7 which may cause it, I believe you need to have the cheats enabled in both the properties for the game and the settings for all games.

Yeah I've updated the loaders, enabled cheats and my card is real one, I'm sorry but I've just lost interest in it now, I didn't expect to have muck about so much with something that's practically brand new. I'm just going to use it for games that are not compatible with my M3i.

The reason it has the contact issue is because it's not an official card. Other cards can have contact issues depending on the system they're in, and cards like the iPlayer or DSTwo that have extra chips can in fact be a bit too fat for some DS models.

Wow kiafazool you've been having this problem with HG for ages, just noticed you've got a topic about it and still you've not managed to sort it. I thought all the freezing issues were done with the latest AKAIO and loaders.

I'm using the latest AKAIO and have tried both the loaders that came with it and the wifi-updated ones, and heartgold runs just fine. I haven't had any issues with it at all.

Kia, open the cheats menu, choose "rebuild", and when it's done reloading them press start. Also go into the rom settings for it and make sure everything is at the default.

I cannot believe how many people complain on this forum. Its as if complaining is going to fix their problem. This is why Normmatt is so pissed all the time. Acekard is a budget card, yes its build could be better but truth is, its only mediocre. Sometimes it 'll work sometimes it wont. That's why we've developed the paper trick. That's why we have countless guides on how to set-up your card. We try so damn hard to make this as easy as possible and AKAIO plays a huge part. tk_saturn brings you the best guide for setting up your Acekard I've ever seen. Its foolproof, no one can mess it up; that's how well written it is. When people have a problem they don't COMPLAIN they try to figure it out, cuz chances are there is a SOLUTION. This is a forum, ask questions DONT FREAKIN COMPLAIN. You want to rant, go to the Blog Section. You have a question, try your best to phrase it and someone will get to the bottom of it. (Edit: Removed list of helpful members because I'm less angry now and it seems unneeded when you're in a calm state)

As for kiafazool, if every fix in the gaming world isn't working for you then it cannot be software related. I read your entire thread. Everything you did narrowed it down to your hardware. I suggest using the paper trick neatly outlined in tk_saturn's guide. Or maybe even a different MicroSD, you could have a Kingston clone.

For Djay187, again, look at tk_saturn's guide; that guy is a god. Look at the contact issue section or complain to Acekard, not us, that their build sucks ass for you. I've had experience with their sucky ass build as well, the clips on my AK2.1 broke after meager effort.

I'm not being rude, I'm pointing out the obvious. Yes, it may have a negative connotation but its the truth.

i think it is software related because only heartgold is freezing

no use in doing the paper trick because only heartgold is freezing

i tried 2 different one's, same result

impossible to have a kingston clone because it was bought from futureshop (same as bestbuy)

kiafazool, you already have your own thread on your issue. You really shouldn't hijack this thread for it, the OP's issue is different from yours are you are taking it off topic.

I've haven't tried HG, but from what I gather other people don't have an issue with it. If other people aren't having an issue with it, then it's likely to be something you are doing and not AKAIO or the Acekard.

People have suggested you try Soul Silver, and you don't seem interested. That for example might help you narrow down the issue. There are also several releases from Europe, along with the US release. You should try some of these other releases.

It's for that reason Normmatt replied to you in the manner he did in your other thread, and that's what Hakoda is refering to and is the reason Normmatt seems such a bastard at times.

I also really suggest you try another Memory card, other than these 4GB Kingstons you have. There is massive deviations in Kingston cards from where they don't make the cards themselves. You must have another card you can try, you'll probably be able to find one in a Cell Phone, GPS etc that you or one of your family have.

It's cool Hakoda, TD said he will sticky the guide when it's finished. I need to add a bit more, but the guide isn't that great. I might of been if started when the Acekard came out, you could say I was a little late to the party.

I have had a couple times where the system menu wouldn't boot. This is out of hundreds of times. All that was required was a reboot. There were a couple times also where only half of the games would show up in the menu. Same thing though, I restarted and everything was fine. All in all mine has had as good or better operation than my Sandisc memory cards that I use for other things. You will never have a perfect contact on any component. Maybe the OP had a bad card, but I have no complaints with mine. I purchased it about a year ago.

yea i understand that its something im doing, im almost done figuring out what the problem is (just a few more tests)

dont want to start all over again so im not trying soul silver. and i tried lots of releases (same issue)

yea i understand what normmatt goes through every day. but he should understand that not all people are noobs

i dont have all kingston's. i have 1 kingston 4gb and another 4gb that doesn't have a brand on it (came with my sister's cell and u know those cheap companies)

and you're guide is the best
