Buying an DSTWO this week, this gives me an even better reason to buy it. In my opinion, SNEmuDS doesn't do a very good job.

Are they planning to make any other emulators after snes? Give sega megadrive/genesis!

dont think they are

but the SDK mean that other people will be able to make good emulators

They stated they'd like to do a NeoGeo emulator...it's not a sure thing, but it at least shows they're thinking about doing more. Also, I assume this means the source of the SNES emulator will be available? That's a pretty awesome thing.

I got thinking recently, that SNEmulDS was probably the fastest SNES emulator for DS, but probably not the most accurate.
That being said, I haven't used SNESDS or SnezziDS before, but if they were more accurate, or if it's possible to port Snes9X with the DStwo SDK, then that makes all too much sense.

Anyway, I hope we can at least see a video of this snes emu soon, I'm just happy to hear we may finally see something coming in the next two weeks.

I hate to ask this but why is Linux so importantI'm curious as well. The DSTwo lacks an MMU (at least, I cannot find confirmation of one existing), so the only linux variant (that I'm aware of existing) that'll work is uClinux, which might not meet the additional software requirements of something like snes9X, and hasn't had a published update in over a year. Furthermore porting an emulator to the DSTwo itself is going to be better than running linux on it and running an emulator within linux. More resources available to it.

also do u guys think with the ask out programmers can edit and fix the gba emulation?Only if we have access to the source of the GBA emulator, which we don't. If the default emulator doesn't improve, an alternative one can simply be created/ported, though.

As long as sc team can work on the OS and if other programmers can work on game fixes and plugins this cart will be the best one out there
I don't think the supercard team will let people work on the game fixes/loaders, because then somebody could just take the previous fixes and distribute them to other carts, and the supercard would lose it's hard-earned status as one of the most compatible (while the others get it without the work)... also this will allow more clones to pop up, since the clone makers will be able to use game fixes they normally wouldn't be able to find/program themselves... and then when the supercard team stops the fixes from leaking, that clone cart stops getting updates since it's makers never knew how to do it in the first place... It happens all the time, and none of us want that.

And also - what with the SDk coming out - it'll really be down to the developers of the Homesbrew that we use as 'plugins' to develop their programs to be compatible with the DSTwo - not the other way round
