Could someone please test if the U version's saves are compatible with this version?
I want to play in French, but I don't want to have to start all over.

Since nobody is going is to say then ill say why.
Because the other one is the (U) also known as the US version and this one is (E) version also known as the europe version.
The diffrence between both of the version is the languages.
US versions only contains english language.
Europe version contain english and Français, Deutsch, Italiano, Español.
You can look the info in the first post.

Anybody knows if it´s the same English as in the (U) version, or have they changed some of the words to be more UK-english instead of Us-english?

Probably he wanted to play it either in Spanish, French, German or Italian, not in EnglishNalif scroll a few times down and you could have played it a few days earlier
