It's not released yet cause it isn't. THINGS TAKE TIME, ask yourself, "Why did it take game designers such a long time to make a game?" Then ask yourself, "Will it take a long time for a translation team to change all of the images in a game and translate it all to English?"

Please, stop being such a bug about the patch, if you know it won't help, why post?

if testing is done how come you havent released the patch
Beta testing.
Not finished product testing.
Christ.

There is still probably plenty to do, like write up instructions and make it a professional style release. They also may be doing finishing tweaks that don't have to be tested, such as script rewording and art edits.

Actually, I believe psyco has claimed (multiple times) that all is left is some art asset replacement and that the scripts and everything else are completely done.

Beta Testing was done awhile ago. As far as photoshop I hope someone already stepped in to help by now.

I know Beta Testing is done, but last time he seemed interested in a second playthrough in anycases something new popped up...

Also am offering my help if he still needs some photoshop skills... I know how some people can volunteer at first and after a while they just disapear without giving any news... it happens a lot and offering my help, tho late, could still be needed if the other one in charge just stopped working on it...

Still I think this game is incredible, I loved my first playthrough the first time, and I am looking foward for a second playthrough.... and if my second one can be with an updated patch... I'll be glad to help some more on the project.

Don't compare fan translations to professional teams.

You're right, because it's so much easier to do it with none of the tools necessary.
*rolls eyes*

It's like opening up a Wii with a hammer instead of a triwing screwdriver.

Don't compare fan translations to professional teams.

If it takes large, professional teams with a game's source code months to translate it, imagine how long it would take a few non-paid fans on the internet who need to resort to hex editing/hacking?

On top of that, people like fans translators have LIVES outside of working on projects. And any sensible person wouldn't put their lives on hold to work 24/7 on something they aren't even getting paid for.

Just be glad that somebody actually gives a shit about their fellow gamers enough to work on projects like these for free. I people on this actually looked at the bigger picture on how these projects worked, then they would see that long production times for higher quality projects are rather sensible.

And you know what, the team working on this patch deserves just as much credit as a professional team, they're doing this for free, professional teams do it for the money and translators have to find the right tools to even get the images and .bins out of the game! They work just as hard if not harder than professional teams because they have to deal with people like you and annoying whining brats who aren't very appreciative of their work because they don't like waiting.

So yes, I WILL compare fan translations to professional teams and on that note, this is a pretty damn good decent team, so give them the credit they deserve, it isn't easy doing translations, and they're being professional about it by not dropping the whole thing or being egotistical. They're doing it the right way, thank you psyco's and team for dealing with us.

Calm down.
you dont know the reason why they do this.
who knows, they might do this for some kind of attention for a future job in the industry, if so they arnt doing this to help others.

Because think about it, they already know japanese.
I rarely hear people doing stuff for just being "nice" some people upload stuff in the hope to get attention or more hits on their website, or mayby to get a job in the industry as I said.

If you think they make this patch only to please you on the board and for no other reason, feel free to do so.
but if someone thinks they have another reason, let them ffs.

At the end of the day, I will be very thankful for the patch, not their reason, but for the patch they make.

Also, the guy said it would come out in June, its the 29th here in Sweden now.
I know, he said it could be delayed, but if so, shouldnt he notify people then?
Or who knows, mayby he likes people to visit his webpage everyday, mayby one day he add advs on it also.

ps! i know this is the "ASH" thread, but im talking about teams like in absoultezero.

You're right, we don't know their reason for why they work on the patch, but some people DO do things just to be nice.

My inspiration for my translations are all of you.
The flaw of my inspiration is also all of you.
I do it just to be nice, cause I love this community but the whiners make it hard for anyone to want to translate anything.

Where exactly did they say it'd be out in June?
The person I was replying to didn't state why he thought fan translators aren't professionals, but they still deserve the credit like one, no matter why they do it, they still do it. I can tell you now that a few of the hackers working on this translation, isn't in it for the attention.

"We expect to release the Tales of Innocence patch in June."

"we believe that the patch should be ready before the end of June (unless there are any unexpected issues between now and then).

"We think, based on the information we have, that we will be able to finish it in June"

Okay, so he never said it would come out in June.
But when you write stuff like above, what are people to expect?

And then he goes quiet...ofc people are gonna get dissapointed, not because the patch needs more time but because he isnt saying "what happend".

People can expect to use their better judgment and be mature instead of being impatient.

They should have more faith in the translator and the team. If they don't like it, they can give an attempt to translate for themselves, play the game in Japanese, or don't play at all.

Some people prefer to keep quiet because of things like this, people.

Point is, we don't know what exactly is going on, so we can't make any assumptions, whatsoever and guesstimating the release date only makes things worse cause it's false information, that's why you shouldn't guesstimate.

And as the poster said above, this is the ASH translation not ToI.

Funny. people got confused since all the projects we are waiting for didn't receive an update close to a month.
ToI, ASH and ToH (the last one won't be for quite some time though).
