Ok, well it's not my wii - my friend has taken his Wii over to the US with him as he's now living there. His wii will not work over there as they have a TV which doesn't display PAL signals well.

I know that it's not as easy as just installing a US system menu, if I remember correctly, that will just end in a brick.

What would be the correct way of doing this? Is it even possible?

He hasn't mod his wii before and I believe he is on 4.2E - I know he hasn't yet updated to 4.3

EDIT: Am I right in thinking that all he needs to do is change his wii TV output settings to "60Hz"?

I think this should be done by using AnyRegion Changer. Correct me if I'm wrong, I have no experience with this.

Edit:
I don't think it will work with setting it to "60Hz", but you could try.

What you also could try is a PAL to NTSC converter. Something like this:

But you won't be able to play NTSC games, but you could install Priiloader to resolve this. With this method, you wouldn't need to mess around with the System Menu.

I forgot about priiloader.

Thank you very much =]

I'm sure that Priiloader and AnyRegion Changer should do the trick
