Well as the title suggests I'm looking for a modchip and there's not too many reviews on them or experience descriptions. Allot of you would say well "why don't you use a soft-mod? Or USB loader?" Well yes that is true but I'm going to purchase on of the black wii and I've had a wii before and I've soft modded it and the thing I hate was the CIOS' and it was a bit of trouble. And I'm looking for a seamless experience with this something that's basically plus n' play, I like the WODE jukebox but it's a HUGE extension to the wii. It's looking like the wiikey fusion might be my solution. I'm looking for something that will basically let me pop in an original and rip it like a CD to either SD or USB and simply play it without much hassle. I hope this makes sense t some of you and any suggestion are appreciated.

for the game play & back-up simplicity (lg rom drives), i have only a wasabi dx that works without a fault. keep in mind that i'll be perfectly happy playing only my region games (this is the sacrifice).
the price was fair (au$70) & easy to instal. i haven't done any other forms of add-on's or soft-mods.
as for other mod-chips ... you will need to sum up what they offer/do & what you're prepared to pay.
do a google/yahoo on the sellers & ask away to heart's content. i'm sure they'll be happy to shine the light on your questions.

hope this helps.

So you're getting a black wii.

That removes most of the modchips from the list.

Your options are:
WODE Jukebox (external hard disk, replaces the vertical stand that comes with the wii)
WiiKey Fusion (it has its own external SD slot)
Replacement drive board (which is gonna cost like 80 dollars) and then you can install older modchips like Wiikey 2 etc, probably a D2B.

I'm prolly gonna get a WiiKey fusion. I read you can solder 2 wires and use the wii's SD card slot I want it to be just like a normal wii but I want everything to be playable from some sort of flash memory. I used to burn discs but they usually just end up all over my room cause I buy them in spindles and they have no cases. Will the WiiKey Fusion allow games to be played from a USB hdd?

No, you cannot play games from a USB hdd with the Wiikey Fusion.

For D3-2 Wii's, your options are:

Wode - can use SD cards or an external USB hard drive
Sundriver - removes stock hard drive, uses internal 2.5" HDD
Wiikey Fusion - SD cards
Flatmii Fusion- SD cards

Or you can also replace your DVD drive and use any other chips as mentioned.

If that's the case I'll prolly go for the wode then. Even if it is bulky an ugly looking..
You get used to the look. You don't even notice it. It eventually is just like the original stand - you just don't think about it.

I'd go for the WODE too if I were you. It has the most features (like game ripping and homebrew menus) and works with both USB and SD. Soon it'll work with streaming games over WiFi. Definitely the one to buy.

Yea I'm prolly going to. I really don't want to mess with discs at all other than installing them but I want that to be done on the wii itself. I want it to be like what the WODE says it is, like a jukebox. Just pick a game and play with no hassle. I would do updates too but I like to have region free, and I've heard they still haven't cracked that yet.

For region free, can you handle just using Gecko OS? That means no cIOS's, trucha signing, etc. Just using SmashStack to load the .dol from your SD.

Well yea I know but like I said I want it to be as seamless and easy as possible I don't want to add steps.
