Then you're missing out and will be waiting quite awhile. The game is fully playable. The only text not translated is bonus background info on characters and places.

not to mention the last patch was a year and four months ago, so it'll never reach full 100% at this point.

the game is 100% if you don't care about looking at a glossary/library (kinda like a pokedex), which iirc you can only access at a specific place.

i played through the game twice, and never saw any japanese until my sister told me about that thing.

If the update was that long ago, then something will probably happen soon. Unless the translator suddenly said that he stopped translating...

Hmmm, can someone help me? I keep getting an error whenever I Import the Soma bringer rom in Somatrans then after the error the whole program just doesn't work anymore :s

does anyone else have a problem with the game freezing at the beginning of Act 5 in the Gina Lava Zone? I reach the first story point in zone 3 and the game just goes to a black screen when I activate it.

I use a Wood R4

What kinds of stuff are missing? The wiki site says ~5% missing for menu's that seems like a lot considering menus are something that are constantly dealt with...

As mentioned a thousand times before: The game is FULLY playable. There is nothing missing in the menues. Might occur that you find a character somewhere with an japanese text, but never really happened to me, so I don't know where they might be, someone mentioned that I think... xD

And well there's only unneeded stuff that isn't translated, so you won't run across it until you search for it I guess... xD (well if you don't read all glossary that is)

And as you can see in the first post there's only 2 percent untranslated stuff.... ^^ And the game IS definitely worth playing!

I am playing Soma Bringer now and I'm really grateful for all the work that has been done for this translation to be possible, thank you.

But - out of sheer curiosity - I can't help but notice some German names and words in there (like the new guy is called "Welt" which is the German word for world, or Einsatz means mission and Schildkröte [even with a proper ö] means turtle) - where do those words come from?

I couldn't tell you why Monolith Soft picked those names, but they were German from the beginning:
ヴェルト - VERUTO
アインザッツ - AINZATTSU
シルトクレーテ - SHIRUTOKUREETE

The two characters' names are written in the roman alphabet on official artwork, and the ships Schildkröte and Häschen are probably a reference to the fable The Tortoise and the Hare.

Darthnemesis I appreciate that you may be too busy but I recall reading earlier that you intended to completely finish up on the Soma bringer translation. Would you say this is still the case? If so, would do you think it would be sometime this year? I understand if you are content with what you have released and want to move on to other things. Thanks again for your hard work.

wow, i was just browsing the translation boards when i stumbled on this...

seriously, i beat the eff out of this game more than a year ago and it was, for all intents and purposes, completely translated.

if anyone is thinking about not playing this because its not fully translated, I'm thinking about kicking them in the junk.

seriously, play this game.

its so worth it, i have 87 hours on one file and 42 on another.

this is THE best original rpg for the ds.

The game is fully translated indeed, the only thing which is in Japanese is the info database on the Schildkröte, where you can read about the characters and events which have happened (but some parts are translated). And seriously, how many of you will ever go and read any of that? Most people don't. I do, but since you can see from what is already translated in the database that you don't really have anything new there, just stuff that describes what you learn in the game anyway, it doesn't matter if it's translated or not. Unless of course, you forgot what's the story and want to look it up, or just enjoy reading these kind of things (like I enjoy.

).

The game freezes whenever I change members on my party. This only started happening in Act 3. I kept fighting that hard boss in the room behind the area where you get the Saint's Blood. Granada and Einsatz died so much that I couldn't use them fr the remainder of Act 3. I decided to change Party members at Act 4 and the game just freezes. Any ideas on how to fix this?

PLaying this on DSTWO btw.

mine freezes too. i can't change party members or select actions either. i'm using an acekard 2i

in fact, i can't even do anything with the party option. even if i simple select it, then go back, it freezes. in the mode, the party members glitch, by having after images of themselves
