Gaming North America silver PSP 2000s NOT part of Daxter pack?

I'm looking to buy a fully hackable PSP 2000. ("Fully hackable" as opposed to partially hackable, where I would have to re-install the custom firmware every time I turn the system off and back on.)

I've done my research and know that I do NOT want a PSP with a TA-088v3 motherboard. I've also read that buying a silver PSP 2000 that came with the Daxter Entertainment Pack is a guaranteed way of getting a fully hackable system.

My question is: Are there any North America silver PSP 2000s that were NOT part of the Daxter pack?

Perhaps a better question: If I buy a silver 2000 series PSP, am I guaranteed to get a system that's fully hackable?

I like the look of both the piano black and silver PSPs, but I have yet to find a way to guarantee that a used piano black system (without the original retail box) is fully hackable.

Both the faceplate (especially the faceplate) and backplate of a PSP can be swapped out for other colors/models, so if you do get a silver it could potentially be a newer PSP in a silver case. Make sure the seller mentions it as being from the daxter pack.

If there were official silvers not from the pack, I'm unsure. Somebody had a link showing which colors/models came in which packs (sony made a lot) and which are hackable, but I don't have it right now.

But I would think it's much more likely that a silver PSP 2000 came from the Daxter pack than being a newer PSP with a different faceplate and/or backplate. ...Right?

Then again, I don't know how difficult it is to swap out the exterior of a PSP.

There were no Silver PSP 2000s sold outside of the Daxter pack. So no matter what Silver PSP 2000 you get, it should be fully hackable.

Well yeah, but those are clearly distinguishable from the plain silver psp 2000s. Either way, I think those would be really hard to find.

The daxter one is called 'Ice Silver", so if it's that you know it's daxter and not the CC ones.

Swapping out the faceplate is simple, but swapping out the backplate is complex.

The only way you are going to get a a guaranteed fully hackable PSP is to buy a 1000 or a 2000 that has already been hacked.

The problem w/ the 1000's is the weight, crappier controls (from the nub to the D-pad to the sticky square button), less RAM (extra RAM is largely only used by homebrew)... They also lack video out, but I don't think many people use that, I almost never do anyway. They do have an IR port (I do like messing w/ the TV's at my favorite bar w/ my 1000 and IRShell). and you can use 1.50 hooks w/ M33. A 1000 is also probably going to be very cheap.

While a silver 2000 is a safe bet, it's still a bet and no guarantee. A previously hacked 2000 is probably going to come at a premium. Not that I would charge for the GEN CFW on my 2000, but it's certainly more valuable to me because I can Pandora the thing. Anyone w/ a hacked 2000 is probably going to feel the same way.

Owning both a 1000 and a 2000 if I had to give one up it'd be the 1000. After owning both, if I were in your situation I'd take the risk on the silver 2000.

As far as swapping housing is a concern: my ex-silver 2000 is now in a transparent case. It's kind of scary to do, but not all that difficult. It IS scary enough that it would stop most people from doing it however, and they damn well wouldn't bother to put it in a standard silver housing when they were done.Again, after waiting a month for the case to arrive from DX and spending an hour and a half migrating my 2000's guts to the new case, I wouldn't anyway... Not even so I could fool someone like you into buying it as a fully hackable unit that actually wasn't.
