Just came in here to say that I think this is the best Homebrew application for the Wii. Period. Add to the fact that it now has .rar support! I love the customization aspect, although relatively new, it's welcome. Having my own fonts and background music is great. It has evolved greatly over time, I remember how thrilled I was when the + button gave you a little menu for the first time... Anyway, I've been using WiiXplorer since it was first released, and anxiously await what the future brings for it. Keep up the good work!

Hey guys, does anybody use Ubuntu? I am trying to use SMB, but I can't connect. SMB works fine in WiiMC and Mplayer CE. In WiiXplorer I entered my IP, username, password and the name of the shared folder. I also tried the complete path of the folder, which would be /media/drive_name/folder_name Nothing worked, I am using FTP for the time beeing. Where does the SMB share show up exactly? Next to the SD Card and USB Drive partitions?

I'm not sure how to use the config line about setting a music directory for the music, I wanted a folder on my smb1: to be the default for music but couldn't seem to get it working.

How should it look ? smb1:MUSIC/various ??

Also ...

Mplayer Bug
Loading any movie file in Mplayer always results in a crash for me. I've tried every format and size known to man.
These files work in mplayer normaly.

smb1:MUSIC
It will show the files and folders inside "MUSIC", there's no need to put it as "MUSIC/various"

For Mplayer, did you configure the path correctly, in WiiXplorer options?
MPlayerPath = sd:/apps/mplayer/boot.dol
Remember have your mplayer app with the same folder name.

Hope it help you

I'm not sure, but you could try placing your shared folder direct on c:, with no subfolders. Maybe is the same problem that Slimmmm is having...

The order in WiiXplorer is SD -> USB (if exist) -> Disc (if exist) -> SMB1 -> SMB2 -> SMB3 -> etc...

Change Log for r208 says:
QUOTE said:
*Added support for Hermes IOS202 v5 and v5.1
*Added support for drives with a GUID Partition Table (GPT)
*Added possibility to start GameCube homebrews on selecting a dol
*Fixed booting of WiiMC and maybe some other homebrews as well with it (thx
Tantric)
*Optimized file browsers memory usage for filenames
*Updated language files
Does this mean that FTP now works when running WiiXplorer using Hermes IOS202 v5.1? Still using Hermes v4, thought I'd ask before doing some testing... the Google Code Home Page still states "FTP Server doesn't work for Ethernet-Adapters (maybe for some Wifis too) if you install IOS202 v5".

Is there something special to set for the FTP to work? I have ftpii and works perfect, but in wiixplorer I can't copy from the SD to my PC.

Not sure if this has been asked already, but usually when I use the auto update feature, WiiXplorer freezes and the screen just turns partially green. I have to manually power down the system and then I am able to get back into it just fine.

Might this have anything to do with using IOS58 on boot?

I updated to r.212 inside the application and Wii crashed (black screen) when I tried to restart wiixplorer. I tried again, put manually r.212 into the wiixplorer folder, renamed to bool.dol, and went to HBC to start the application, but there wasn't any...
So then I put back my working version r.210, and HBC still doesnt sees it. It really messed something up on my SD, now I can only think about formatting back the SD, but when I have some time (and space on my HDD)

I use HBC 1.0.7 4.2E

Check if all needed files are in /apps/wiixplorer:
boot.dol

yes, everything correct. I even deleted the cfg files r.212 updated.

Edit: Ok, I solved it without reformatting but it made me kinda reluctant to update new version on this app :/

Hey.

I tried WiiXplorer for the first time, r212, and I had a couple of issues:
- it took a long time to enter the app (I think it defaults IOS202, and I only have IOS58);
- my SD card contents (FAT32) is not visible (HD is WBFS, so not visible either);
- after changing settings, exiting app and entering the app, all settings are the same as before change!

I use HBC 1.0.8, Wii System Menu 4.2E.

What may be the reason for these strange behaviours?

Thanks in advance.

It takes a long time if it keeps having to search for an IOS to use, Recommended to install 202 anyway its better/faster
- my SD card contents (FAT32) is not visible (HD is WBFS, so not visible either);
Sounds like you have problems with your SD card, might consider formating it FAT32 again with SD formatter
- after changing settings, exiting app and entering the app, all settings are the same as before change!
This is the same issue as above, its unable to read/write from your SD card, where is it going to save the config changes you made!? Fix your SD card and this will go away with it

I use HBC 1.0.8, Wii System Menu 4.2E.

What may be the reason for these strange behaviours?

Thanks in advance.

I never had any issues with SD card, why now? Any format utility you recommend?

Actually theres a program made specifically for formatting SD media, just google search SD formatter.

Maybe its just that your SD card is simply not compatible with wiixplorer.

As far as ios202, I'd personally use Hermes V4 and isntall with merge37 base. Super fast.
