...but the bottom screen is broken. The touch thingy still works (I know because I can launch GBA games (including my POS GBAMP SD version lol) and adjust brightness), I just can't see what I'm doing on the bottom screen because it is cracked and doesn't show anything but white (the back light is still functioning).

I saw some deals for a DIY bottom screen replacement kit on a E to the Bay that includes a tri-wing screwdriver, the bottom screen, and the digitizer usually for around $10-$15.

Any better options that buying that to repair my DSL?

Yep, those are the only things you need! You're lucky it's the bottom screen that was broken and not the top. You don't even have to open up the DS all the way :]

As for replacement cases, it's up to you what color/design you want... They're probably about the same thing..

I ordered my parts! I decided to get the golden-colored replacement shell (with the triforce logo) off of Shoptemp along with the rest of my order.

Where can I find a good DSL disassemble and reassembly guide that covers the whole system? I've seen ones here and there but they don't cover everything, just bits and pieces of it.

Personally I'd say don't replace the shell, it's probably not worth it to take the time with the top screen and it's ribbon cable. Also the bottom screen replacement takes less than ten minutes or so. Very easy.

Edit: posted twice with posts merged, and I had a further thought, but forgot it, I guess I'll edit again if I remember.

Oh yeah, green is kind of a unique colour too, I have not seen one in person. Personally I like it too. but it's all preference. and you already probably are going to receive the parts soon.

good luck.

That lime green is the fulgliest color in the world. And as you stated, I already ordered the parts, so I might as well replace the case when I get it in the mail.

I'm pretty sure that the golden triforce case is just as rare as the lime green case. I'm gonna keep the lime green case, though, just as a backup.

In terms of replaced cases the triforce might not be too rare,( I believe it's on the first page of shoptemp.

) but not many people outside the scene probably replace their cases and that is the majority of the people you'll run into who own DS(L)s. YAY!

EDIT!!!!: GRRRR! Friggin' crappy posting twice ANFOIDNSIFN!
