Game freezes on mission selector if i press RIGHT on the D-pad. Played thru Mission 1 flawlessly on GEN-D3.

You can't manually patch using prometheus? And Iso_tool could get it done? Are you serious?

Dude I'll tell you this: I run 5.50 Gen-3 and I used the mgsfix file but the game froze always during the loading of the Hind battle.

Then, today I patched my iso deactivating the mgsfix and the battle loaded, however freezing after a few seconds.

Finally, I ran the patched iso WITH mgsfix turned on and the game works fine.

Yeah, the Hind is still kicking my ass, but that's not the point...

followed these steps and game seems to work great. thanks =)...wish i could jsut play from the UMD, since Metal Gear is the only game i really love on PSP that i find worth buying (with an exception of a few others)..guess I will play from the ripped iso until they come out with a new CFW that normally plays my UMD

Hey is it just mine or when I interrogate soldiers after grappling them they sound funny i mean no speech... I'm trying to install the 800MB option and see if it changes....

Working fine with this with 5.50 GEN-D3, but freezing randomly in second tank battle when you start shooting at enemy. Until that everything works fine with 330Mb data install.

That's a common issue that happens in the game, and it does not matter what size install data you use, it will still do it on an iso. Funny thing is that at the beginning of the game it would not do it but now it seems to do it all the time.

Use the MGSD3fix to get past that part then after you get through playing use the MGSNeverfix to return your psp to normal. At least that is what I did to get past that mission after it froze like that.

Well, I tried the plugin (the one we're not supposed to make download links from, and for m33-6 only)from the other thread and ran a clean ISO it ran perfectly. No freezes. You could try that. PSPhacks said that it seems to be an updated version of pegasus.prx and is able to run 5.50, 6.00, 6.10 and 6.20 games.... Well, it's working for me....I'm about to try it with Disgaea Infinite as soon as I finish getting it.

I can load the game and install the data, but I get stuck on a loading screen after the text intro. "After the award ceremony, Snake mysteriously disappeared"......so did my game, apparently.

Anyone else getting this problem? I'm on M33-6.

You know, I really wonder WHY so many people prefer the european versions even if the american ones have multi language sometimes...

I guess it's because the EUR version usually has the original japanese voices, which many people prefer. Most of the time, the english dubs are terrible.

try using a different strategy from time to time. sometimes, If I attempt to just tranquilize them all, and stay on the safe side, I freeze. Last time, I just rushed out into the open and attacked, and that got me through for at least 3 missions.

When you say english dub, I'm assuming you are referring to most Japanese to English game dubs? Because the Metal Gear series has never had bad dubs.
