Can we not use Wood's loader on Akaio, that would at least let us play the newer games while waiting for an update.

No idea if it's possible just thought I'd ask

WoodRPG doesn't have a seperate loader like what AKAIO has. But since it's open-source, maybe someone experienced can port it hopefully

It does, it's seperate in the source. You can get a akloader.nds from it, there's also an akloader.nds in AKAIO.

For example you can use akextract on the official software to rip out the akloader.

It would take someone with knowledge to do it, which most on here lack including me.

Oh. But isn't it integrated (not seperate) if you were to download the precompiled WoodRPG 1.08?

They are complied, and then packaged together.

I imagine all you have to do is change makefile and compile, and you will get the akloader. As I said though, it's beyond my knowledge.

You also have to ask: if it's that easy why are the edgei clones still ripping off the loaders from AKAIO instead of using Wood's? so there's going to be much more to it.

I lost my hopes for akaio, I'm not expecting it's release soon. I'd be surprised if it's released in june.

Did I say anything about the lack of updates? I was commenting about his attitude about the whole thing. Either keep doing what you are doing, or drop support for the whole thing. If you had to deal with the n00bs around these boards you'd tell them to fuck off aswell. I'm still working on AKAIO but its not yet ready for release, but it is coming.

My bet is Normatt will keep 1.6 RC3 private and either release 1.6RC4 soon, or will simply release 1.6final.

It's funny to see people leaving comments like "I'm looking forward to the new update Normmatt, Thanks Normmatt!". Why in God's name thank him before hand? I still think his attitude of "It's ready when it's ready...." is an arrogant attitude. I still think it's a stupid idea that "the public" is not entitled to anything and just has to sit tight....while many Acekard buyers bought it BECAUSE of the high compatibility of the AKAIO loader. And if we're entitled to nothing WHY then starting this AKAIO project in the first place?

Right now I'm still proud of the person who made the R4 rise from it's grave. Long Live WOOD!

Maybe you should look up what words like 'arrogance' mean before you go around (mis)using them...

Normmatt has ZERO responsibility to release any AKAIO updates. Period. End of story.

Wood users can have the last version of wood anytime, just svn and compilation time. We must wait for Normmatt :/

Ok, akaio is great, but, if normmatt leaves AKAIO project, AKAIO is dead... if Wood leaves WoodRPG project, anyone can continue that.
