1. I would hardly call R4 the "worst card" around.

Exactly. You have to appreciate Normmatt's work and the AceKard team should be paying the guy. When I was shopping around on UK-based online stores trying to choose a flashcard about a month ago the Acekard 2i was the best seller on most sites. If it wasn't for AKAIO I can't imagine that would be the case. Pretty much one guy is carrying the popularity of the card.

Okay so in all seriousness, read this statement like 5 times: NORM DOES THIS FOR FREEEEEEEE. Okay? He only shoots for perfection because he's living up to the AKAIO standard, a standard he set. I believe that his standard was never a point below the best. That's why AKAIO was never mediocre, that wasn't good enough for him. AKAIO is number one and forever shall be because its developers thrive for perfection and consistency. AKAIO 1.6 Final will be released when its perfect in the eyes of its developers. Cowboy77, is correct; without AKAIO the Acekard would be at the level as an R4 before Wood R4 came along. Also remember that Normmatt is still human. As amazing as his actions define him to be, he is no "God" as some of you say he is. He can't code AKAIO 1.6 Final in one day, it takes time. A huge part of coding is debugging and so when the Beta team finds little nibs and bugs, Normmatt fixes it right away so that they can get back on track to what they were doing before, developing the best god-damn firmware you're ever going to get so shut your mouth and be grateful.

Akaio is brilliant, I make no claims against it. Does however seem that people at this site go to great lengths to kiss the creator's butt in hopes of new versions. >.>

It would be nice if it was soon, but in my opinion there hasn't been any real major game releases that needed fixing right away.

I'm sure it'll be out when it's ready, just need to be patient and kill some time playing some games. =P

There's atleast ~1500 unique games for the DS, i'm sure they are many games you can play until Norm fixes Jam with the Band. So have some patience, you don't need to play Jam with the Band right now.

1.6rc2 works fine tbh, ihavnt had any issues. i guess not pirating new games is a part of that, since newer games seem to have save issues

Well, with newer games all of us are too dependent on patches released. It's much like with the latest PoP. No one skilled enough feels like patching it- we can't play it. So you can only play games other people like, i.e. those getting patched.

There's always the go-and-buy opportunity, but not even for everyone. Take my example. 40% of PAL DS releases make it to Russia. The delay is 1-2 months. The price of any game- $50-60 (including those that are intendedly priced at $19.99). Twice the MSRP. I have too choose really well. Ebay means using a credit card, postage expenses and the looong wait for international shipping.

That's why I'm so anxious about fresh AKAIO releases. So I can play and then buy, when the game makes it to Russia.
